I hope Muller matches Vanek's line. He has a history of torching us. I think he has better than a point per game history against the Canes. Tavares has had some big nights against the Canes as well. Should be a fun game to watch instead of the low scoring affairs we have been seeing lately. |

It won't be low scoring with our defense and goaltending. Big game for both teams hopefully mine decides to show up this time? |

Interesting matchup tonight between these two. Every time it looks like the Islanders are about to get on a roll they crap the bed like they did on Tuesday against the Caps. The Isles can score but they sure as hell can't defend well right now. It may be early November but a win tonight in regulation is very important to the Isles. |

Canes are about the opposite. They cannot score to save their lives. Ironically the last time the Canes scored more than 2 goals was in the 4-3 win against the Isles. But despite being 6 games deep into a stint with the team's #3 goalie (that's it's #1 AHL goalie) the defense has held together reasonably well for the most part and the team is coming off a 2-1 win where they gave up very little (albeit to the Flyers who are also struggling right now). |

The Canes have slowly turned into our new Penguins or Flyers. I meant that in the way we can't beat them. |

The Isles will score 2 or more goals tonight like they have in every game this year. Question is will we have goaltending? Nabby sucks "at least" 60% of the time, so unless our backup plays this game is anyones to win. |

Canes really limited the chances from the Flyers on Tuesday. Don't think that's going to be a possibility against the Isles team.
The Isles defense vs. Justin Peters. Whoever fails less wins. |

SiriusXM NHL is saying Poulin will be starting tonight for the Isles. Shame for the Canes struggling offense since Nabokov has let in a bunch of soft goals the past couple of games. |

a bunch is a conservative number. He's allowed 10 in his last 2 games and I think he probably didn't have a good chance of stopping 1 or 2 of them. at least 8 softies, if not all 10.

I did see the highlights of the Isles game vs Ottawa. All the goals against in that one definitely were pretty weak. One thing I would be encouraged about if I were an Isles fan is that instead of the team getting down or discouraged about it, they came back with good shifts afterward and responded by beating the Sens. Conversely, the Canes have not been able to put anything offensively together and recently haven't looked like they have any chance to recover if the goaltending gives up a weak goal or two. |
