Forget Buffalo, there's no room in the league for Kaleta or anyone like him. (frank) him.

Agreed, thats why he's be perfect for Toronto or Pittsburgh, 2 teams that seemingly always have a cheap shot artist

Starting to agree. But it's not just him. They have made him an example. Lets see if they are consistent with what they want to take out of the league

Of all the so-called "rats" in the league, Matt Cooke, Dan Carcillo, Brad Marchand, Patrick Kaleta, etc., Kaleta has the least amount of talent of the bunch, and I'm not sure it's close. I hear a few people in Buffalo say that Kaleta is out of a job because the NHL has gone soft. This is incorrect. Patrick Kaleta has only himself to blame for the loss of his job. There's something to be said about playing "on the line", but Kaleta has basically has thrown all care as to whether he crossed it or not for a long time. It's nobody's fault but his own. Now, perhaps he can clean up his game as Matt Cooke did, but that's his only hope.

They're in a deep enough hole. Getting Scotty Bowman in his prime at this point doesn't get them out of the basement. A new coach will make this team watchable without ruining draft status.

They made an example of Matt Cooke too. Then he figured out that he could be more useful if he actually tried to play hockey every once in a while. Only time will tell if Kaleta is smart enough to figure that out.

Carcillo is just as useless. However skating is a talent. And Kaleta can skate.
You're right it's his fault, but if they are gonna toss out suspensions like this where there is no penalty or injury, be consistent with it, which they will never be, and until they are I will not agree with it

Carcillo can at least play the powerplay and not look completely out of place.

Rolston will get the axe by Thanksgiving.

Cunnyworth becomes the new head coach.

There is a huge difference between the two. Cooke has on multiple occasions seriously hurt players. Hell he almost ended Karlsson's season on accident. Kaleta has never caused a serious injury

Playing men's league hockey in Rochester would get a tad easier.

I agree DD, that hiring is not just for head scout. It has much more meaning to it. I like Cunney think he got a raw deal in MTL

Fan outrage over Patrick Kaleta being waived is a great look into why this fanbase is so idiodic sometimes. Being able to overlook the fact that he is a 4th line talent who is one hit away from missing a quarter of a NHL season because he's a "good-ol Buffalo boy" or somehow shows hard work ethic is beyond me. Hes a replaceable plug in the league and anyone who disagrees is brain-dead.

So it's Kaleta's fault the Sabres are a joke?

Give me a break! This is a total deflection job by Buffalo brass.

Kaleta plays with a high level of compete and intensity. And his "hit anything that moves style" of old time hockey walks the line on a nightly basis... But don't kid yourselves...

This organization is rotting from the top down, not vise versa.

Just as a public service announcement, here's a refresher on what a REAL cheap shot artist looks like...
