Getzlaf hit the post on his shoot out attempt, but if you want to call that a save who am I to argue.
Rask was brilliant tonight. His play was the reason the B's deserved the extra point. |

Sleepwalking through the First Period once again, Since that bad loss from NJ they seem like a different Team, very tenative almost playing NOT to lose, which in turn helps you NOT to win. they are working hard, so the effort is there just seem to be a little off with every pass, shot, hit However I'm sure this Team will pull it all together very soon. |

Sloppy game but I'll take the 2 points.
Nice to see Spooner in for caron, adds a good bit of skill and speed with Yeti and Kelly. I like L3 better with Spoons over Caron |

They will be fine, last night was very frustrating to watch, especially the first period. Too many guys were looking for assists last night, and there weren't enough guys just trying to get shots on nets. That, mixed with anaheim's forecheck was like watching paint dry. |

What a difference from the PIT game, that game was so fun to watch, the ANA game was a snoozer |

Iginla's shootout goal was a beauty.
Spooner can't be sent back down if he plays just as good Saturday, Caron is back to being his terrible self. Credit the coaching staff/Chiarelli for bringing up Spooner instead of waiting it out. |

Nice to see Soderclops(S/T to Double_A) get his 1st goal especially after that turnover. What a ca ca 1st period though, yikes. They have to be better than that.
I would love to see Spooner in and Caron out. Caron is Wheeler 2.0 to me, overhyped mediocre talent who does not use his size, shows a fancy flash of what could be, and then returns to being dormant. Spooner provides speed which is something the B's are lacking in. |

I'd love to see Boston get a return for caron, yes he was a 1st rd pick but they have the talent in the farm to replace him, I am sure a team would take a flyer on his and could be a bottom 6 on another team other than Boston. Right now there are 5-6 guys in Providence that i would take over Caron |

Does Spooner go back down when Loui returns? I'd rather healthy scratch Caron and let Spooner get playing time. |

Yeah, Spooner goes down. I love his game, he reminds me a lot of Marc Savard. But, there isn't really a spot for him in the lineup right now, when Loui returns Smith or Marchand will return to L3, and Caron will be in the stands. Caron may be incredibly boring and occasionally frustrating to watch, but he knows the system, is reliable defensively and can kill penalties. That's a pretty valuable 13th forward imo. I'd also be happy if they could move him for a pick and call up Nick Johnson for that 13th fwd.
Obviously Spooner is the most talented player they have in the system, but they want him playing top line and top PP min in the AHL, not 3rd line/press box NHL.
BTW, is there another team in the NHL where L4 is 100% secure and its third liners bouncing in and out of the lineup? Haha, gotta love that merlot line
As far as the teams recent play, NJ is the only game I felt was BAD. I think the Pens played really well more so than the Bruins bad, and last nights gets a pass for me. 2nd of a back to back after the toughest game of their season and they grind out a win in a poorly played contest, not to mention how hot ANA is. Championship caliber teams do that a few times a year |

I don't think many would agree with me, but I would like to see Thornton scratched and Marchand playing RW on 4th line. Keep top two lines intact with Eriksson, keep Spooner with Kelly and Soderberg.
Get Caron off this roster, find a way to get Spooner involved. IMO they don't need Thornton out there every night, just when someone is hurt or a team that really likes to rough it up. |

They got Chris Bourque, I don't count that as anything. God he was just as bad as Hamill |

Yeah he was terrible. Speaks to Chiarelli's ability though. At least Bourque got a goal and was somewhat of a curious attraction for the team which is more than Hamill accomplished the entire time in the organization. |

My only question though id the top 6 centers are locked up and management really likes Chris Kelly. It seems he may have to switch to wing if he is to be a part of the big club and really develop. Say this is what was actually happening. Why not pull the plug on Caron now and let him play? |

I agree with you but it wouldn't happen until the playoffs. Spooner impressed me. He looked good playing center with the big boys. It reminded me of late last year when Bergy went down and Seguin got a chance at center. Woof. |

Nice to see everyone in the media and on the radio on Iginla's AKA Iinglia, Iginyay, Igla's...Richard. I called this a month ago. 10 games in and everyone would love him and nobody can say his (frank)ing name. This town can be really (frank)ing dumb sometimes.

He's got to be one of the most notorious slow starters in the NHL.
Glad to see he is putting the puck in the net finally.

I think it is blatantly obvious with the organization keeping Spooner at center at all cost with minimal NHL experiance shows they did not think Seguin could play center. |
