Enjoyed the games I've seen Calgary play this year so far - they compete. I didn't think they would be very good but they really are a decent team (goaltending aside).

Ramo looked weak. I really had high hopes for him and maybe he's still getting used the angles, but that JVR goal was awful. He also seemed to be fighting with his glove a bit. Couple of little floaters popped out of his glove, with one almost resulting in a goal.

Leafs had no business winning that game.

They really miss Giordano. When Kris Russel is playing almost 30 minutes a game.....there is a problem.

Leafs played much better against Edmonton than they did against the Flames. Both Alberta teams need goalies.

Nah, the Leafs were just better and took advantage of a weak and mistake-prone Oilers team.

Leafs played better, but not great against the Oilers...I thought the Oilers just played poorly.

Yeah...it wasnt a great game by Ramo but I wouldnt fault him for the loss. What more can you do than throw 43 shots on net and only find the back of the net twice. That and, Calgary's defense isnt very strong at the moment, especially without Giordano. They could use an upgrade there.

Oil still outplayed them. 3 posts. Multiple other chances the Reimer stoned them.

And 2 of the Toronto goals were greasy.

Fact is Leafs continue to win while getting outplayed consistently.

I saw that game and the first period I say Oilers took over but in the second I saw mostly the Leafs attacking.
The third had the Kessel line go on once so they sat back. That's where another 15 to 20 shots happened.

I wouldn't say the Oilers dominated the Leafs that game at all but last night they looked lazy... maybe tired.

oh I agree not great - they haven't played great for 3 periods in a row this year yet lol but they were far worse against Calgary....or Calgary was far better - either way I felt they were much more deserving of a loss against the Flames.

Leafs know how to score goals and don't care about the opposition shooting on net. If anything it just get our goalies even more in the game.

The soft play at times will catch up eventually but we also have yet to have our full team in a single game this year. The Leafs are a talented, counter-attack team that can score at will with two solid young netminders.

That's our identity and were a good team. If you don't like it, f-uck off you jealous pieces of s-hit

Even if the Leafs won the Cup people would find a way to convince themselves that they didn't deserve it. It's not surprising that they're in first place in the East and still don't get any respect. It's easy for everyone to latch onto one flaw in their game and ignore all the other things they're doing to win games.

Well agree Gio is a big hole to fill ... And maybe you don't want Russel playing that much ... I won't say bad things about him as he has been great out there

The whole "deserved to win" or "deserved to lose" thing is kind of stupid if you ask me. Short of being completely robbed by the refs, a team either does enough to win or they don't. Neither Edmonton or Calgary did enough to win, they weren't good enough. The Leafs made them pay for the mistakes they made while Reimer and Bernier kept the door shut. That's hockey. People need to stop making excuses.

Not sure if watching the same game, but the Leafs sat back the entire 3rd period against Edmonton. Kessel maybe got 3 shifts in the final 20 minutes.

The Leafs outplayed the Oilers in the 2nd period and the latter half of the 1st period.

This. I don't like trolling, but fu*k, you can have sh*t guys like stajan etc take 40 shots all you want on a good goalie like bernier. I'll take legit snipers like lupul, kessel, JVR etc take 20 on a garbage goalie like Ramo. That's what Corsi doesn't tell you. Call it 'luck' all you want.

If the leafs didn't play so poorly then they might get more respect ... Fir all the trash talk the flames get from leafs fans for being terrible you'd think a team with all the good players the leafs have they would dominate ... But I barely noticed and leafs players out there ... Pretty much the whole game the flames controlled the play . If not for sone poor positioning by a Ramo the leafs don't win ... And I'm not saying this because I hate the leafs and am biased ... As long as the strong goaltending for the leafs continues they will continue to win games ... If it slides at all ... They could easily go on a massive losing streak
