Nice read. I hate these 8PM starts, throws my whole pregame routine out of whack! |

The Pens will have no answer for the likes of Lucic or Marchand tonight.
The way the Bruins are up front is a lot more complete than our line up is. |

I'll agree with Lucic, but very few teams have the answer for Lucic. But I don't think that anyone should be worried about the severely struggling Marchand right now. He is in Juliens doghouse and has not been producing. He hasn't even been annoying teams. |

Marchand misses his BFF Seguin, me thinks lol.... He's on 3rd line duty right now with Smith moving up to L2
Lucic can't be contained by 99% of the league when he's playing like he is right now, but BOS still has been suspect and the PP/PK has been, well, brutal.

Power play has never been all that great for Boston, even when they won it all, but the PK being so low surprised me. |

No its always been bad, but the additions of Krug, Iginla & Chara down low should have made a big difference. Still early but still.
the PK is the biggest thing because it's the same group tat has been doing it Top 5 in the league year after year, so it's quite frustrating.

How often is Chara used down low now? As I mentioned in the blog I have always thought he had better value in front of the net for the Bruins on the PP. |

Depends on what you are looking for from that spot. I don't necessarily need a guy with a huge shot there if the other members on the unit can get it done.
I personally like his abilty to distribute up top without turning it over. Letang has shown signs that he has not improved that part of his PP makeup so far this year. |

they started doing that this year and they've been pretty consistent with it. |

I think that will pay dividends if they stick with it. |

If only Iginla could have played left wing the morrow for morrow swap was still worse IMO gave up a lot more for him. |

It has looked good, especially with Krug blasting from the Point and moving along the line.
Krejci, Chara, Krug, Iginla and Lucic should be a VERY 1st PP to play against

The verdict is still on that, and will be for the next handful of years. Joe Morrow could be a very good NHL player, or a bust, same with the pick and the prospects that Calgary got.

Criticism of Letang?
I'd better check on my house in Hell and make sure the pipes in the basement aren't frozen... |

Whats up with Eric Hartzell being sent down? Due to poor play? I can't find anything on WBS website showing he even played.
I'm going to Columbus Saturday for the game... I really don't want to see Zatkoff getting the start |

Letang still gives the puck away as a QB on the PP your right , I really wish he could change that part of his game , well that and the fancy , lazy passes that get picked off. And don't get me wrong I love Letang. |

I think it's a numbers game... They have (had) 3 goalies in WBS right now, so might as well send him down to play every night in Wheeling. |

Letang needs to watch how Matt Niskanen gets shots through from the point. He seems to rarely get shots blocked, and are usually on net and low. When he does shoot wide, it seems like it's intentional to get it through or play for the bounce.

Hartzell was also injured so, coming back from that, is possibly getting sent down to get some starts and do some rehab/conditioning by playing actual games. |

Perfect assessment, somehow even with all the pure skill he does have he just cant make it work on the PP. |

Question- What can the Penguins do to deter Lucic from just running wild and pounding all of our star players tonight?
Glass? Not a very good option if you ask me. |
