I actually like these lines. Glencross is playing like a 3rd liner. I guess when Stajan comes back, Horak is back down. We have too many vets going into next year. Some tough decisions when Knight, Gaudreau & Arnold come at the end of the year. - Kevin R
Just don't trade this guy like you guys moved St. Louis and Savard!
Can't wait till he finishes up at the NCAA level! |

He's an idiot & I have seen how 99% of Oiler posters react when ever someone say Nuge should not have been on the big team because he was not physically developed. Monahan is 6'2" 200 lbs. He can develop just as well under good coaching in the NHL. We really could give a rats ass about eating 1 year of a ELC. If he's the real deal, he'll get his money & right now Flames really don't have any cap issues other than trying to ensure we are at the Cap floor. How come he isn't a GM? |

Yeah, he's lumping all 18-19 year olds into the same group. Doesn't work that way.

One persons opinion. I happen to disagree with a lot of what he says.
Yes guys like Gagner and MPS should have been sent down but Nuge, Hall and Yak were ready. The argument for Monahan is that he is really being protected right now. Soft minutes and easy assignments. That would be the only argument to send him down.
The contract issues don't mean poop. |

Dude has a point and honestly by the end of the year, he may be proven right. However, management has 9gms to evaluate and decide. They tell the kid "do this, do that, you have 9 games to give us no choice but to keep you....GO!" The Flames made the right choice for what they've seen. Tough choice but it may have given mixed messages to Money.
As for the contract stuff. 1 player moving off his ELC early won't brake the budget. The issue the Oilers have is that they had long term over paying contracts and soooooo many young guys that will come off their ELC early. A lot of players that will be on our team starting on the next 2-4 years have not yet stared their contracts. If next year we draft another 2 or 3 guys that go immediatly to pro, then I may be concerned. |

Soft minutes. He likely wohld have seen the same if he waited until next year. Thats how any rookie should start out. Then let them earn more time and responsibility. |

As for the lines. Initially I hated that Colborne was moved to the 4th line. But those line mates are fine. Its like another 3rd line. I likey |

Wont happen, Gaudreau is gold & there may be a chance we see him for a few games at the end of the year. I think Pourier may make a bid for the team next year as well. |

This gets more interesting by the minute!
But, I wish Glencross was the healthy scratch. . . |

Here are my thoughts.....
Monahan is 19, and the whole time this guy rants on about how keeping 18 years olds, yada yada yada.
Who the hell is Jordan Knight???
(So far this guy has lost all the credibility, even though he had none in the first place)
Get out of here with all this Corsi rating BS. If you are looking at that to determine whether or not he should stay you're an idiot plain and simple. Watch him play hockey, he is a good player at the NHL level.
Player development (not money) should be primary factor in the decision. He will get locked up long term before he even comes close to touching UFA status and sending him down to junior would be a waste of time for him. |
