I still scratch my head on why Rosehill is on this team...Zac has proven he has skill and can drop the gloves and has tons of energy...I also would like to see Alt in action so we drop some of the slower D men...i think this team really needs to see what it has in the AHL and look to shread some of this under achieving "pro" hockey players they have...The fact that B Schenn, McGinn and Gus are leading scoring should tell this team everything it should need to hear...As Jonsey said "put your head down and skate"...If I hear one more time that G doesn't have confidience I am going to vomit...the reason guys don't have confidience is becasue they haven't prepared and are not putting in the effort...not what I expect out of a "C"...hopefully tonight brings out the best of them for 3 periods, otherwise we need to blow it up...

The Flyers have played just well enough to lose their last three games. In each match, Philly found different ways to come away with zero points. Last Saturday in Detroit, Philadelphia took too many penalties and received shaky goaltending from Ray Emery. On Tuesday against Vancouver, the club stayed out of the box (only one minor penalty) and received solid goaltending from Steve Mason but two multi-player defense breakdowns in the third period proved fatal. And Thursday against Pittsburgh, the Flyers had many shots at net, but unfortunately, they deflected off the scoreboard and went into their own net.

Berube was quoted saying after the game, "We need to get better".

Good news is that the Flyers are the Penguins kryptonite... bad news is the Flyers are their own kryptonite... no idea how this is going to go tonight.

I guess, but there is something about this rivalry that makes it interesting. I have a feeling your guys will find their game for this one.

If the Flyers can get suck the Penguins into a chippy, emotional game, it will be close. If the Penguins stick to their guns, it might get ugly.

if a plyer can't or refuses to play in the tough areas, they don't deserve ice time...i don't care who they are...

Thanks, we appreciate the vote of confidence. Oh look, the Flyers aren't exactly tearing it up and the Penguins are doing well, so they feel the need to come in here and provide us with sympathy posts.

Thanks guys!

What is going on in Philly? Team just not meshing?

GM on a very short leash I would assume?

If accountability went to that degree, then you'd end up with a pretty short bench during most of these games... I'm talking like being down to 4-5 forwards.

Reality is, coaches can really only afford to 'send a message' to 1-3 forwards at a time before it really hampers the team's ability to compete on the ice. With a 4th-line like this team has, you can't really afford to bench more than 1 guy at a time since Rinaldo is the only guy they seem willing to bump up the lineup.

And... if you gave most coaches a choice between 2-points in the standings versus sending a message, they'd privately go with the former each and every time, since they know their job security is directly linked to wins.

Maintaining accountability is easier said than done.

If the Flyers get blown out tonight it will be a very very long 7 days for everyone involved with the team. It may go all Game of Thrones so it could be entertaining.

I'd assume it's the same thing that's going on in Buffalo... abundance of young talent, but GM/Owner got impatient and tried to take shortcuts, and tried to spend their way to quick success.

BTW, are you guys going to send Grigorenko back to Junior again? And Risto?

First off, I think the Flyers will at least show some emotion and come out skating hard tonight as the Pens seem to bring out the best in them. There will likely be a lot of powerplays for both teams and sadly that favors Pittsburgh. However, Fleury, for whatever reason, seems to have his worst games against us and Mason is really playing well right now. So, my prediction is a 3-3 tie at the end of regulation, followed by a scoreless OT. The Flyers then will do something they rarely do, they will win a shootout and take a huge sigh of relief heading into the break.

Or not, cause what the heck do I know anyway?

GM has the owner on a leash, i think. truthfully, what good would it do to fire holmgren now? that would be tantamount to an admission of.....[looks around furtively and whispers...] "rebuilding". as you may know we don't do that 'round here
