That's a solid result against a tough team.
They've been playing quite solid so far. I wish the Oilers did the little things well like the Flames do. - Morris
I can't remember that last time anyone ever said that about Calgary...... What is this strange new feeling?
How long do you figure before a goalie is traded to Edmonton? (how about Joey for a prospect or a pick) |

I wish Calgary showed up before the 3rd period. Ah well they hung in there..
Butler better not play another game in a Flames uniform...
Look for Berra to be up soon if Ramo struggles - KABLOOEY
Oooooh no, what did Whip do this time!? |

(Very) soon...no more excuses with this team. Get it done.
As early as Sunday, MacTavish has been working the phones and working them hard to determine the market for goaltenders. They are looking at every possibility, from Anaheim's Jonas Hiller to Buffalo's Ryan Miller to Brian Elliott in St. Louis to Michal Neuvirth in Washington and beyond. MacKenzie |

I saw you post this on the Oils blog and I went back through to see what he did... obviously the mod deleted (whatever)... Stupid mods (jt excepted)...
We deserved a better fate outside the first period. Joey looked meh, Butler looked like my 9 yr Atom player, Hudler was great and agreed, where the hell is GlenX??? |

Winnick Is a dips#$t.
Decent game last night, effort was still there. Got to love the exciting hockey.
Butler is a dips@#t.
Monahan, looked just alright last night. Looked slow on the faceoffs, but ok everywhere else.
It's nice to see they don't give up. |

man Butler giveaways are the WORST!!!!
mind you Brodie made a pretty stupid play that led to the Selanne goal....what was he thinking trying to skate that through the offensive blue line when there were 2 duck players on him and cornering him! |

I was only able to watch the 3rd period but it was nice to see that Colborne got some PP time and time with quality players. From what I saw he looked pretty good. Set up the 2nd goal and saw some highlights with some pretty good heads up passes. |

Now if only he wasnt 10ft tall he would have had a goal!! |

It was easy to see why the Flames' record is what it is. They are a very frustrating team to play against and all 5 skaters play defense. Tonight was the worst the Ducks looked all year except, of course, for the game against the Av's. |

Fighting back against a tough team in a tough building, I'm glad that this team is at least trying to build character/culture. Kudos to Hartley.
Road games where we don't have last change will show how much they try to shelter Monahan, should be the real test to how NHL-ready they think he is.

He was the biggest suprise for me last night. I thought he played well and I'm looking forward to seeing him on the first line (let's see what he can do) instead of Street. I'd like to see it like this next game:
1. Colborne
2. Backlund
3. Monohan
4. Street |

Why is butler still playing on this team? I would way rather have sieloff or smith or cundari in the line up and I think it would be impossible for them to do worse.
I thought Backlund looked great last night. Working hard in every zone. It was probably colborne's best game of the season too. It was the first game that Monahan didn't look incredible but hopefully he has a couple of better games in this trip.
Did you see how hard Gio worked when the net was empty. The race back to stop the goal and the aggressive play to keep the puck in the ducks zone, He really wanted that tying goal. I hope he can keep that dedication and intensity for the game against San Jose. |

I would rather watch Ramage or Whetherspoon than Butler. & I want to see Ramo for a few games now too. I don't mind losing if we see the effort we had last night.
Seeing we have a lot of cap space & I think we desperately need a big closer dman in our top 4, I wonder if it would be worth trying to pry Myers out of Buffalo & giving him a fresh start. Just food for thought. |

Yeah, Street was schooling Getzlaf early (especially on that 5 minute PP ) but when it came down to the end of the game, Bonino, Koivu, and Perrault were money. |
