Thanks Carol.
For a while there I thought my prediction of Philly winning 4-1 was going to happen.

Am I alone in this, or does anyone else think" F$&#, we're probably gonna lose" once we're trailing? This team seems to lack drive alot of the time, to the point where I get quite concerned.

You are not alone. I still maintain this team had the soul sucked out of them after the SCF game 7 loss.

Considering it must be a Huge change from AV to Torts and the Fact that Lou always starts slow, 4-3 isn't that bad, is it?

No it isn't, but for the bi-polars it's the end of the (frank)ing world.

Not when you look at the way AV is running his ship in NY. Talking about steering er straight into the iceberg, but the real shame is...well it's like he's trying to break Lundqvist. The exact same way he did with Loungo. And the topping is the fact that he's playing Del Zotto on the wrong side too, his power trips do way more harm than good.

A few years ago, when they could score, the Canucks were known for making comebacks. A game wasn't over when they were down 3 goals with less than 10 minutes left, but when they don't have the guns or haven't been putting the puck in the net, why wouldn't you think
F$&#, we're probably gonna lose
.
They have to prove themselves again, after the Stanley cup run, the following season was basically a write off because it was going to take time to recover from the gruelling playoffs. and there has been nothing but excuses since. If Torts' tenure is to be successful, he has to get the team swagger back and the results to back it up.

It looked more like they went in to that game with the soul sucked out of them.

Agreed. The SCF was ages ago. It shouldn't even be factored into the current considerations of the team - good or bad. We're not privy to speaking with these players in the locker room and watching their output in practice but if there really is a debilitating haze of SC failure hanging over any of these guys they should be shipped out immediately. It'll only contaminate the team.

We go through this every season. The Canucks play .500 hockey until mid/late November and then suddenly find their legs and their game.
If they are still scrambling come December/January, then everyone can go all super nova.

I guess if a win is a win, pretty or ugly, just making the playoffs is enough. Doesn't matter if it is a lower tiered underdog team or a confident team with a winning attitude and record. Wins in the playoffs with/against a hardnosed back alley scrap approach to the game is the only measure of success.

Which am I more comfortable with? I will take the winning record along with Torts vision of a more difficult team to play against. I think the Sedins are buying in, and just hope Daniel can get something going when he is split up from Hank.

The truth is I think this team needs some new blood, but if Torts is a big enough factor in pushing some buttons and getting the team going, I will be more than pleased. If they are on the team, I want to see them do well. I want to see Kassian take a positive step, play consistently and effectively fill a role. But he is still relatively young and has to grow up a bit yet.

2 of the losses were against San Jose, who are beating everyone right now. It's not a bad start. Hopefully they can gel a bit more as a team on this 7 game road trip.

Please. Not enough scandal or swearing on here lately.

Except weirdly as I type the banner ad on my page is selling the DVD Scandal, so maybe just swear a lot.
