Matt Henderson: A Couple Of Things Oilers lose to the Leafs in OT. The percentages evened out for the Leafs but Dubnyk has forgotten how to play his position. All he had to do was hold on to the puck...

Reffing was pretty bad last night, though I think the Leafs got away with more than the Oil did... since when is interference an optional call?

What exactly would you call for a penalty though?

Not sure, it was pretty inconsistent but I feel like that isnt much of a call. Franson gave him a shot and it looked like Nuge went down fairly easily. Not really enough to call in OT imo. I think the worst was when Orr had a questionable holding call, then when JVR merely got body position on the oiler's dman, they called that. That was brutal.

I hear you... I watched the third period of last nights game before my Habs went on. Its not only the fact that Dubnyk doesn't stop the puck, his decision-making abilities are heavily questionned here.

You guys definitely need a goalie... would you try Bryzgalov at a decent salary? Just asking...

I wish we could trade Miller to the oil but I just dont see a team in their situation willing to give up a good prospect or a high pick depending on where this season might be going for them. Would love to see it though. So far this season hes been stellar. Last night should have been 7-1 against the hawks.

Oilers are going to live and die with Dubnyk this year. MacT doesn't have the assets to get a good goalie, we have no prospects in OKC, we can't afford to trade any of our decent players, so we're stuck with this bunch of crap on the ice for another season. The best we could do is trade this year's first (Top 5 pick for sure) to get Ryan Miller and try desperately to resign him. No other starting goalie is on the market. Dubnyk has screwed us all. Another year of looking up at the Flames and their rather successful rebuild.

Agreed. The Leafs were just starting to assert themselves when they called those 2 penalties. The one on JVR with the Leafs already down a man was maybe the worst call I've ever seen.

And let's not forget the phantom high stick on Hall where he actually pulled the shaft into his face then tumbled like a gymnast.

I know it sucks to lose, but after watching the Franson replay I don't see a penalty. He doesn't grab him, he reaches from behind and tries to stick check him. RNH slows and Fransons pushes him to the ice - this is how most of his checks are, after watching players getting slammed into the boards from behind every game - Franson looks like the poster child for clean checks

always been a fan of theodore, but not a long term solution. not sure does mac-t want a short term solution considering he was trying to acquire bishop, bernier, raanta, and schneider.

We still need him. Last night showed Bernier isn't perfect after all.

It was for sure a penalty, but as mentioned before it was bad all game. It just looks worse because it led to the goal. Wouldn't be an issue if they could hold a lead in the dying minutes though. Or if Dubnyk could of made some saves he's supposed to make.
