Terrific game by the captain.
On a side note Tomas Hertl has more goals than the entire Sabres team in one less game so far. |

Well that was definitely entertaining. Huge game from Crosby. I'm not sure I've ever seen more deflections/tip-ins in a single game. People who look at the boxscore will think the goalies had brutal games, but the numbers don't tell the full story. Full credit to your guys for the win! |

Thank you, sir. Definitely not easy. Tampa clearly has firepower and is getting some good play from a lot of different areas. I don't doubt that anytime our teams matchup it could be a big night for scoring. Good luck to you guys moving forward...unless you play us obviously

The Lightning have lost to the Penguins a lot over the last few years, but I never walk away upset with what I've watched. It's always entertaining when these two groups get together. You put Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos, and St. Louis out on the ice together and things are bound to be exciting.

Oh how I want to kick Panik's ass for that bullcrap move . It was almost equal to the barn burner in Toronto last night. |

Absolutely!
Quite an exciting game last night. I wasn't thrilled with our PK the time the Bolts converted. We just couldn't get the puck out. Other than that great game.
I love Rob Scuderi.
At $500,000 Chuck Kobasew might be the best dollar for quality player in the league. Shero is a damn wizard. |

Yeah, but seeing him in tears on the bench has to count for something, right? - kill.monsters
Tough way to lose a game. Especially one of those nights where Pens are lighting it up already. Fun for us though. |

as an aside -- has anyone EVER seen a referee assist a player off the ice without blowing play dead? I know a ref/linesman will remove a broken stick or debris off the ice, if play allows it, but have never seen an official assist a player in getting to the bench during LIVE action ... just looked odd |

Fighting in hockey is going the way of the dodo bird (in about 5 years). Anybody who says otherwise is in denial. - Ryan_Wilson
The staged garbage can go any time, including the nonsense off the opening draw last night. |

Its all gonna go away and incidents like the one powerhouse posted will certainly push the process along faster.
Lawsuits are coming just like the NFL had, only a matter of time.
Doesn't mean I don't think there are still effective fights in the game (very rare though), but money talks and the lawsuits will dictate the future. |

No doubt. That USHL incident is grim. A week into the season and already 2 ugly incidents resulting from a fight. I'm thinking of the Orr/Parros tilt--another example of an unnecessary brawl, the likes of which do not police or enhance the game as the old guard likes to claim. |

DO you see the Pens dealing a dman before Maata has to be kept/sent down to juniors? |

Truthfully the only thing I am sure of is that Shero has options.
I think it is 50/50 that Maatta stays. There are so many potential moving parts with their defense depth right now.
We havent even brought up Dumoulin in the past couple of weeks since he was hurt that is how deep things are right now. |

Nice to see Sid rounding into form. We all hope he stays injury free for a year. I want to see the numbers he can put up playing 82 games. |
