I'm not torn at all... I'm going to cheer every goal and every win all year. With the effort these guys are putting forth they deserve the support of the fans.

Nice blog, from an outsider looking in all I will say is keep expectations in check. Oil went on a 6-7 game win streak in octover 2011-2012 and finished last still. Going to be plenty of ups and downs for you guys this season. Enjoy the ride

Flames deserved the win, Habs didn't show up until the third and it was too little too late.

Subban played great, as always, and brought us back in the game but took a bad penalty at the end of the game.

Monahan and Baertchi are looking great.

Caught pieces of the game here and there Monahan seems like a very smart player.

The big question to me is, did those Habs fans chant ole during the game? I didn't hear any, but like I said I missed chunks of the game.

The kids were great last night but everyone seems to forget how amazing Brodie has been playing. This kid is going to be one of our anchors on the blueline.

Let's see Joey Mac in goal for at least 3 of the next 4!

Monahan was a good pick for you guys... He was the obvious choice at 6th overall, but Feaster had me a little concerned. I was thinking he'd go off the board and do something crazy.

Late addition:
To note; there were 17 NHL scouts at last night's game...team's will certainly be keeping a close eye on the Flames this year as they try and fill holes in their own rosters.

...nope. Ramo will get his chance in the next game or two and start playing back to backs himself. If not, Im making a trip down to cowtown and finding out what coffee shop Joey goes to every morning to say "Hi" ......yeah, I would do that to avoid having an Oilers avatar for 24hs

Meant to comment on that actually...Brodie looked very poised out there and moved the puck very well. Hes coming into his own as well

Never thought this would be an easy team to play against.

BoAs are shaping up to be great in the go-ahead.

I don't think playoffs, or even a jaunt out of the basement are in the cards for the Flames, but they've certainly emphasized not rolling over and they'll go as far as their talent will take them.

Yeah, as a whole I think they have been very smooth so far this year with breakouts. Brodie last night came exploding out of our zone a lot. Hopefully he can keep it up.

Anybody know what teams were represented with those 17 scouts? Any team have multiple scouts?

As for CGY, its awesome they are doing so well; it bodes very well for the future. That said, I expect things to fall back a bit come mid season as teams round into form and CGY starts moving out vets. Think of the Oilers in their year 1or 2. They started off well and then lost something like 18 in a row.

wear and tear on the younger guys may become a factor - not used to the grind of an 82 game schedule at the NHL level.

But they looked great last night - teams may go in taking the flames lightly but that is definitely a mistake (see last nights results )

No, outside half the Dome being Habs fans, they were a pretty humble bunch. Had they have been up by 3 goals...
Edit" save the drunk girl in the Habs jersey, toque, stretchy pants and scarf who dumped beer all over the guys below her (and no apology)...
