Staal-semin-tlusty look like they are skating in mud. That needs to stop sometime soon.

They do look out of synch. If Ruutu is available Thu would you consider skating him at LW on that line?

He might be rusty in terms of his hands and timing, but just maybe him flying around and forechecking like his hair is on fire will help light a spark, create a few turnovers that lead quickly to chances and make a little more space.

This should be a good wake up call for Muller and the team. Effort is there, but the little things still need work. You can't take a shift off, or not play 60 minutes.

The Canes top line needs to be more of a factor. They practically disappeared for long stretches. I generally like Harrison as a third pairing dman but he not only lost his fight but he had a rough night all the way around.

I think there was a lot of "rough night" to share on the blue line. Between them, Harrison and Murphy had about a half dozen breakdowns or bad reads. Hainsey and Bellemore had their moments, but they very much looked like they were trying to survive or hang on the entire night.

But to the positive, the Sekera/Faulk pairing continues to play incredibly well.

Here are my observations:

-To compete for a playoff spot our PP needs to start clicking to the sound of top 10 in the league... it's def not there yet, and i'm not sure it will get in the top 10. When given the opportunity to be a man up, we need to put the puck in the net.

-We need to stay out of the box against these teams... Pens, and Caps will eat us alive when we take stupid penalties... ie Harrison, he needs to know who is on the ice (Dvorak) who was in position to pick up his assignment when he blew out his tire.

-Gerbe is playing like a $7M guy and Semin is playing like a $550k guy... this needs to motivate Semin and the top line... when Dvorak and Gerbe have 4 of the 6 goals for the season, lines need to be shuffled and fires need to be lit under a few shorts.

-Can Brindy jump on the ice and win some FO's for us?? Seriously though, we clawed back into this game and then lost it over failing to do Fundamental hockey things well (lost FO and bad positional assignment by Murphy = Glass goal, poor clear out of our zone causes Jokinen's 2nd goal, bad penalty by Harrison (not knowing he had help in Dvorak) led to a PP for Pens and Jokinen's 1st, and Ward's positioning on Jokinen's 2nd was a bit to far in the net, and he fell asleep on Juice's 3rd

-Somebody explain to me why the heck Chantel is interviewing Crosby during 1st Intermission?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I have Faulk on my fantasy team and he is not hurting me at all.

I can live with Murphy making a mistake or 3 since he's a rookie but the rest meh there about as digestible as a rock esp. Harrison oh no no he must have had some booze before the game or Glass knocked him stupid.
