Yeah it's the second game... not sure how you can make any definitive conclusions either way about any team after two games.

As the Bolts' coach said himself, they really stole that one. Oh well.

Coop was looking out Chicago PD as he ran from the building with those stolen points . Two games in, the last thing Chicago should do is worry. If I was Bettman, I'd already be inscribing the Blackhawks name on the Predidents trophy.

Yes....3 out 4 points and one game on banner night.
Schedule is friendly and need to accumulate points this month, but Bishop stole the game.

They've clearly gone to a more passive PK scheme in light of Fro's departure. He was worth every cent of that $2.5M, IMO. They absolutely dominated 5 on 5, so I'm not panicking, but they need work on special teams. Leddy looked great on the PP; maybe someday Q will realize that Keith's offensive prowess took the slow boat to China, especially on the PP.

If anyone is panicking about their team 2-3 games into an 82 game season, Id hate to see them during the playoffs. Same goes for anyone going absolutely nuts that their team is doing well the first 2-3 games into an 82 game season. Plenty of time for anything to go any which direction in this league.

I was surprised that Tampa pulled off a win after an awful start. While it is disappointing for you Hawk fans, it is not a big deal. Your next game will be a much better test.

Lol...you really need to read this board during the post season. It's to early to tell if the Hawks PK has more of a passive scheme or Frolik is the difference. No he is not nor will he ever be worth the 2 point whatever he is being paid. The fact is both of the teams we've played we haven't seen in two years. Washington's PP was and probably will be the best in the NHL. The goal on TB's pp last night was a gift. Factor a new face or two on the PK, of course there will be an adjustment period. Nothing to panic about and like I've said before it takes more than two games to qualify a trend. Check back after the first 10/11 games and see where they are at....The PP does seem a little more aggressive and seem to be creating more chances...but again let's wait and see.

Giveaway night at the UC last night...

Krugs looks lost without Frodo for sure on the PK. Less than a sparkling effort.
The PP continues its suckage...Saad's goal off the partition that was a darn lucky bounce.

Just a bad weekend all the way around...Bears NU Hawks. Oh wait I think Lance Briggs just jumped offside again...

You know the Blues are going to hit anything and everything.

The Blues will try to knock out - pick a forward - from the game.

All this hand wringing about Frolik's departure is a joke....And if he makes that much of difference there are bigger concerns.

We keep worrying about them doing that - and LA doing it and Anaheim doing it and Boston doing it.

They've tried to do it for a couple of years now.

Hadn't done them any good yet.

But playing Brookbank, bringing up Winchester, getting John Scott back, hiring Patrick Roy as coach - won't protect them.

Playing Blackhawk hockey will: this team is good enough, tough enough - proved that in last year's play-offs.

PK wasn't particularly aggressive last year - seems they made their money by blocking shots and retrieving and clearing the puck after shots more than pressuring the puck, especially at the points. EDIT TO ADD: And, dare I say it, Crawford was better at stopping pucks thru traffic than he's been so far this year.

Washington's PP seems more patient than most, with more players having the ability (and patience) to get the puck to the net - G8, Green, Backstrom are terrific at that.

Could not have said it better myself. This running like little girls mentality is shameful for hawk fans. It is hockey guys. (Not you StL.)

Another nugget....Regarding PK, nobody has mentioned the reality that every team had all off season to study what the hawks did last year and develop/implement schemes and stategys to work against it.

Last I checked in the grand scheme, the Hawks are still the measuring stick..not the other way. So Blues will do all they can to win game/gain points.

FWIW, I think you will see a new blues strategy, less running around, less BS, and more discipline. This team wants to take another step forward.

One thing that came to light is that Kostka is a decent fill in for Rozsival ........... whereas Brookbank is a complete and total liability.

Too many A's, not enough I's - but in any case he's injured - Rockfish brought up Carruth (I think) from Toledo to replace him.
