Although I'm sure the losses are going to pile up I bet they're going to be fun to watch.

Being basement dwellers for the next 2-3 years won't look to bad when you could possibly have Reinhart McDavid and Benson

When I read that interview from Feaster this morning I felt the same way as he did...its not fun for people like to me to have to write about a team who most feel will roll over and die because they are rebuilding...and Im sure he LOVES fielding the same questions over and over "so, just how bad do you expect this team to be this year"...I really feel that the team will play hard and when the time comes that they do lose their games, it wont be from a lack of effort.

If Ramo comes out big, I think thats the difference between a few extra wins or losses. Do they win themselves out of bottom five? Probably not...but do they play some entertaining hockey and keep a hard working mentality throughout the organization while doing so? Yeah, I really hope so.

Dont get me wrong folks...I dont want the team to try and reach the playoffs and fall short with a mid round pick. They just dont likely have the right pieces in place right now to do much better than most are expecting, but that doesnt mean they dont work their butts off and play a strong team game.

These younger players taking part in these games will take this mentality down to the AHL and bring it back with them next time they play. Its contagious...you dont want your young players joining a squad of "well, heres to another loss tonight guys, ya ready!?".

Went to the game on Wednesday, it was pretty good. Lots of energy and the crowd was into it, Guess the corporate hand sitters gave away there tickets to real fans for the pre season.

As long as they try to compete they will keep fans happy. But IMO I don't think they are going to be any better than people are thinking and will most likely end up with a top 3 pick

They have to sell tickets, rebuilding is not exciting. You aren't going to come out and say "Our team is no good but one day we will be...".

Wow, that seems like a pretty good bet. 63 points in the current NHL would have to be a joke of a team. Only thing that scares me is Calgary's goaltending, I think the forwards and defesemen are definitely decent enough not to be that bad.

It's up to the vets, how they respond will determine whether or not you will have a winning culture develop.

I dont want to sound like a troll but this flames team is horrible.... this team is on par with an expansion club.. a lotto pick is the best resolution for a rebuilding club, the notion the flames even have an opportunity to squeek into the playoffs may be good moral however it's hardly realistic.

No one is expecting playoffs out of this team... we just want to see a team that refuses to go down without a fight. You may beat us, but we're going to make it as hard on you as possible, for the entire 60 minutes. That's the mentality from the top down.

Nobody is saying they'll even come close to the playoffs, but you lead by example. If the players see that this winning mentality starts from the top then it is a lot easier to commit to the same mentality. The management is creating a competitive atmosphere within the organization that will ultimately weed out the players that don't want to put the effort in and keep those who do.

I don't think it is a slam dunk . Flames will be a lot better than fans think. The league has reached the point where there is one or two favorite teams and the rest will be closely bunched.

Mcdavid and Benson are possibly prizes on a Hall+ level.
