I'm starting to think that you are a leaf fan forced to write about the flames.

No one forced me to write for the Flames, I specifically applied for the Flames position as Ive been following them since I was about 4 years old

Though Im not your typical hockey fan...I follow the Blues too!

Like I said, its been stale in here today and I figured Id gather my thoughts and add content for the site. I certainly hope that Ive proven my commitment to the Flames so far in over a year writing for you guys!

I like it. We're all just waiting for the season to actually start at this point. May as well spice it up.

1 small point though. The Leafs possession numbers weren't high last season. Their shooting percentage was. That's why a lot of analysts think we could see a regression this season.

Don't care what the vultures say about you Colin, you're a good bouy(in Newfi accent)

So when do you expect the Leafs to actually make a move, something's gotta give. Franson, Raymond, not enough cap space. Hearing Flames have a lot of scenarios brewing with different teams(Leafs & Flyers) needing cap space, & are just patiently waiting. Seems like quite the game of chicken. Tick tock.

Dumb, dumb contract. I sure hope for you guys that he proves to live up to it. 22 goals in 2 years. Yea, that's worth $6mil per.

Please....He'd be far and away the Flames best player.

It doesn't kick in until 2014/15. I'll wait until then to judge it.

Perhaps he would. It still doesn't mean he's worth $6mil per. Sure, in a couple years it could prove to be a shrewed signing but as of now, I don't think it's been earned. But seriously, good luck to you guys.

Well here's the thing. Yes the Leafs are right against the cap, no they don't need to do anything.

With two AHL demotions they should have enough for at least Franson...Raymond too could be pushing it. Franson being an RFA needs to bite the bullet, take the Leafs offer or come down a little on his, and work at getting his larger extension in two years. Leafs don't need to force the situation they have guys who can step in, Franson needs to play as no ones likely offer sheeting him.

He'll cave, even if it's just by a little. He'll get his money, just not right away.

They had no choice but to give him what they gave Ebs and Hall IMO.

I don't think Franson caves. $2m for 2 years is a slap in the face. IMHO
