One of the things that is so impressive about Benn is that he was selected 129th overall. It's very rare that players selected so late develop into such productive performers. He and James Neal (33rd overall) were excellent picks in the mid 2000s. It's just a shame that Shero robbed the Stars of a key piece like Neal. Now he probably wouldn't be a 40-goal guy without Malkin, but a core of Benn, Neal, Seguin, and Nichuskin up front would've been pretty dynamic.

Yea, I think Neal would have topped out at 30 with us. I see chiasson and Ritchie both being around those numbers in their prime. So losing Neal really isn't that big of a deal. Yea it would be nice to have him, but from everything I read an heard he was extremely cockey and felt he was above the stars. If he didn't want to be here then good riddance.

As far as benn being captain, I'm happy.
