Camm.....that's it.
I don't see Backlund breaking 50 points and there are just too many other centers out there.

It all depends how deep your league goes, and what the scoring metrics are based on. If goals are worth more than assists and if penalty minutes are impactful, a guy like Glencross becomes a really viable option.

Yup. The only forward i see from the flames worth taking is Glencross and that's if there are a lot of stats put in with the type of draft your doing. The rest will not put up enough points.

Wideman would be the only d-man worth taking and his +- will be awful.

I suspect that Hartley looks at this roster and tries to keep the games as low scoring as possible. Even further devaluating the forwards.

I suppose it's possible that Ramo has a decent average...although that's a really big chance to take.

On the other hand, why would Hartley do that? Become B Sutter2? I think he has players who are prepared to play his system the way he wants it played & his game does have a higher tempo transition component to it. He's going to let some of these guys loose.

Well thing is - hes not blind to the fact that hes missing a lot of star power on the team. He will likely, as a result, employ as strong of a defensive game as he can to avoid blowouts and keep the games close. Though it doesnt mean the Flames wont score, I too expect most games this year to be low scoring if the Flames can stick to the body and keep the puck out of their own end as much as possible.

There's a few guys that I think will be good picks in drafts for where they're ranked by Yahoo but some that I wouldn't touch. Can't give my detailed opinion until the Canucks HB Pool drafts.

This goes against what BB said in his opening presser and in other interviews.

true, however Hartley cant force skill out of his lineup...so he will need to coach a smart 200ft game which will take a couple of games to learn. Still has fire power but its not good for a rebuilding team to get lit up out there.

Awefully quiet today...should I blog more about trades etc!?

I can't envision that going well this year.
I didn't hear the interview....did he perhaps mean that's the team he going to try and build?

Good, he's built like a tank, probably a big reason he was undrafted.

What about a possible waiver wire pick up blog? Teams are still over capped and cuts are happening?

..yeah I looked into it. Not much there unfortunately...most teams have players who they can demote or injuries which will lower them once the season starts...the problem I keep coming across with trades for Calgary is the fact that they cant really afford to move any picks/half decen prospects right now...unless its a package for a young promising player...but again...

Yeah it's a fricken grave yard on the waivers wire it looks like.

I'm surprised they sent Cundari down, although I didn't get to see him play in the preseason.

They kept Billins who looks good on the PP but got roasted 3-4 times during the game the other night. Really surprised he is still around.
