Ehrhoff maybe? I wouldn't do Ott or Vanek. You can't but your C on a guy who doesn't want to be here, and you can't put your C on a guy who is like Ott.

I think I'd do Ehrhoff until Girgensons develops into that role. He seems like he could possibly be the guy to fit that from what is said about him. He's a physical force, highly motivated, never stops working, has some offensive ability and is reliable defensively. He puts his heart and soul into everything, so maybe in 2-3 years there is your guy.

Why not Hodgson . He was captain of his junior team . He has a great work ethic . Maybe a show of confidence in him like this makes his game develop at a quicker rate than it already has. The team just made a six year commitment to him . His head seems to be in the right place .
Now all you haters do not jump on this as an opportunity to trash his defensive zone play . I heard he was working on that hard over the summer.

I actually like the idea of Hodgson. Your captain is a sign of who your players should follow and be like. I wanted Ott but Hodgson is a better example. Ott, Vanek, Ehroff, Weber...guys like those are good with A's. Its clear we committed to Cody long term and I think he would be a logical choice. thank you for the idea whoever threw that out there.
