After a strong first game, looks like Bera is getting the start tonight.

Was rather impressed with Blair Jones as well who was noted to be the strongest player out on the ice for the Flames during training camp. He will be a guy fighting for more ice time duing the upcoming season.

I didn't make it to the game but I also heard Blair Jones played well last night.

I'll be heading to the dome tomorrow, can't wait to get a first hand look at some of these guys.

Any idea who will be in the lineup? I heard the team in Saskatoon tonight will head to Regina for tomorrow's game. Not sure who that leaves behind for the Home game tomorrow night?

I'm dreading seeing David Jones getting back to his old self. By no means do I like his contract, but he strikes me as one of those guys that was hurt by not playing during the lockout.

Sure, but that has nothing to do with the question in hand.

Other question, how does that center from Florida look?

Honestly I didn't see either game on Saturday although I heard he looked OK and also that they might be playing him on the wing tonight. I'll be at the game tomorrow but I don't think he will be playing.

Berra starts tonight, Id say Ortio starts tomorrow....Cundari playing tonight and I would go with most regulars as well. They are likely going to play Monahan every chance they can as hes certainly making a case for Burke to NOT send him back down, despite his history of doing so with players of his ilk.

He doesn't have hockey smarts though. He makes bad decisions on the ice: ill-advised passes, and being out of position; something as simple as covering the point when the d-man pinches he misses (saw it on Sat, and it caused a 2 on 1). He gets an E for effort, and won't make the team.

I was at the game in Calgary. THe first periods was fairly sloppy by both sides. the 2 players that stood out for me were Jones (Blair) and Poirier.

PORIER! That guy is going to make the team if he keeps up his play. He looked like an NHL regular in the game on Saturday night. What I like about him, is he stands in front of the goalie and does it well, also has a knack for being open, and has NHL speed already.

Edit: Most of all, he wants the puck, several times he was open for a long pass and he was banging his stick on the ice begging for the puck. I'm a fan

What I like about Jones is his ability to play the body..hes put on some size and showed strength on the ice which the Flames are going to need..guys who can get dirty and play the body...hes got work to do, youre right, but I liked his physical game.

Yeah I agree....for 10 minutes a game I think he can play that agitator role. He has the ability to play this role, just needs to show he acknowledges that and can make it happen consistently.

Not sure where he would fit; and there are alot of other guys i'd like to see for 10 minutes before him. Other guys who I’d rather see than B Jones: Hanowski, Mcgratton, Bouma, Rienhart, Porier, Begin, Jooris . . .

Center: Mikael Backlund, Matt Stajan, Sean Monahan, Roman Horak,
Left Wing: Curtis Glencross, Sven Baertschi, T.J. Galiardi, Tim Jackman
Right Wing: Michael Cammalleri, Jiri Hudler, David Jones, Lee Stempniak

Perhaps we can trade him for a 4rth rounder or something.
