Simmonds, Giroux, Hartnell, Timonen...Hell, even Emery came back at a decent price. You would think if the Flyers treated him the wrong way, he wouldn't even entertain the offer.

it's a murderers row of grammar here between this and that absolute trainwreck they just added to the top of the page. There's a reason educated hockey people laugh at this site. If it's not bogus content ripped from other quality reporters, it's paid journos coming down to the level around them. Entertaining.

I'm sure Tim doesn't apostrophize when he speaks, though.

You obviously have not looked at the Flyers front office/coaching staff lately.

I would have liked Cleary, because none of the young players can provide what he brought to the table. It wouldn't have hindered their development to play in the AHL (or OHL in Laughton's case).

That said, I'm glad that they're not bringing in anyone else, because there's not really any other free agent that fits well. Gagne was a great Flyer for years, but I think that you can probably get what he brings to the table at this point of his career out of Raffl.

I have concerns about McGinn's two way game and skating ability, but he's got good size and grit, and better hands than I expected a year ago. Laughton would be interesting, but they'd be burning a year off his ELC

I realize the rumor going around was that Cleary was offered a contract, but according to Cleary, Holmgren and Cleary never discussed money or term:

“Paul (Flyers GM Holmgren) gave me an opportunity to come to Philly and I had a chance to be a Flyer and we never discussed numbers with Paul,'' Cleary said. “It was a tryout in Philly." from MLive (http://www.mlive.com/redw...ary_followed_his_hea.html)

But that ruins the "Holmgren is an idiot" routine that has been running for the past week or so
