Well we know he'll be blunt and honest and lack some of the ole oilpatch diplomacy we see so often with the Flames org... Something truly needed... We'll see if what he said at the presser holds true and he will let Feaster make the roster decisions... |

Feaster needs experienced input. I think that has been lacking in the front office of the Flames for a while. |

Anyone who doesn't think Burke was brought in to be GM is nuts. Feaster will keep the seat warm for a season while Burke learns the team and decides what direction he wants to go. But make no mistake: they just cut Feaster's nuts off. |

Good for the Flames.....Watch out for Cleary, Raymond and Bryz UFA signings in Cowtown soon and a trade for JML. |

Burke brought the canucks to the playoffs, won a cup with Anaheim, brought the leafs to the playoffs for the first time in 8 years. As long as he doesn't completely change what feaster and Co. are trying to do. I love feaster's drafting strategy and I love what he has done in regards to contracts (after hudler and wideman). If Burke can add to that, without changing it too much, then all the better. |

I have to wonder if this is going to make Feaster nothing more than a puppet. |

Best move the flames have done in years. |

Feaster is smart enough to move on before that happens. |

I doubt they will sign Bryz. I have a feeling Kipper isn't done yet. We will find out next week if he goes back to Calgary or goes home. He is a competitor. |

Sounded like Burke and Feaster were going to be co-gm's with Feaster taking the mike on trades. I am sure the flames will give this situation a year to see how it plays out. My guess is that Feaster is gone by next summer. Even though Feaster will be taking the microphone the media is going to want Burke. |

Meh, I think he is done. Flames need to move on.... We all know what Bryz brings to a team. |

5 of those 8 years he was the general manager for that team. That's not exactly something to be proud of.
Barring Toronto media and fans, the Maple Leafs are widely considered to be over achievers last year. |

Sounded nothing like that. Feaster is the GM, Burke said it time and time again, he is not there to pull the trigger on trades or signings, he is there to help things run smoothly, he is there to add his input and to report the hockey side of things to Ken King. Ken King was doing both the hockey and business sides of things but now that Burke is in King will be handling just the business side while Burke is going to be dealing with the hockey side of things. Feaster is still the GM, Hartley is still the Coach and the scouting staff is still the same. |

I think it's a good hire, but I'm curious to see what happens with the rebuild now. |

But when he took over, the Leafs were worse off than the current Flames. |

But when he was brought in he started a rebuild, I'm sure you know by now that rebuilds don't usually happen very fast. |

That's the plan today, and I'm sure everyone is genuinely on board for that today, but give it a season and we'll see if that's still the case. Feaster is going to have to have a fantastic year if he's going to keep his job. The temptation to put Burke in that position is going to be very strong. |
