Great job Jimbo. I don't believe anything that comes out of ek's blogs, so mehhh.

And someone yesterday saying that Cally will not be a AV guy? How could any Coach not like Cally once they see the amount of effort the kid gives out of that little body. It's like saying Adam Graves wouldn't be a insert any Coach's name guy. Bubkis.

Happy New Year Jan, although you won't be seeing this for a couple days.

Agreed. The notion of AV changing the culture of the team is misleading. While its true he may want the team to play with more focus on the offense, he's not going to turn the team into the 83' Oilers. That said, I suppose the club could use a little more speed upfront along with an increase in scoring. If that's changing the culture, I feel we may see a deal for a top 6 forward, if there's one to make that makes sense.

thanks!

I had the enviable position of sitting around wondering what the hell am I going to write about #sarcasm
so I thought I would just counter Eklund's Ranger blog.

It's not the easiest thing in the world coming up with something to write a blog about.

Definitely gives me an even deeper appreciation for guys like Jan and Glen who seemingly can write at will.

According to Steve Zipay, the Rangers were using the following lines yesterday while their players practiced for the Traverse City Tournament:

Danny Kristo, Oscar Lindberg, Jesper Fast
Kyle Jean, Michael St. Croix, Thomas Spelling
Josh Nicholls, Andrew Yogan, Anthony Duclair
Klarc Wilson, Michael Kantor, Paxton Leroux

AV hates creativity and only ever opens it up when the front office slaps him.

He will get gased in NY for being incredibly boring.

well, the 2010 Canucks were second in goals scored and the 2011 Canucks led the league in goals scored, at this point we will take that kind of boring...

Great Blog, Jimmy. And I love the usage of the phrase strikingly evident.

You are setting the bar high for those that follow with that type of word usage.

when I write, what I like to do is go beyond using typical adjectives

It's when you start using ADVERBS you know you are getting to the cusp of the big time.

Trade for a goalie that knows how to win a cup and with some cap relief and contract stability

Crawford for Lundqvist straight up

the Hawks have proven twice that if a goalie only plays half the season, as opposed to 70 plus games, he is fresh enough come playoff time to lead a team all the way.

Nice blog Jimbo, I don't expect any big deals either, some tinkering here or there maybe.

Haven't been around much, busy summer, hope everyone had a good one. Looking forward to watching hockey again!!

We hear a lot about UFAs on July 1, not as much at this time of year. Today, 54 players who played in the NHL last year are unsigned.

Nice job Jimbo! Tough act to follow but I will try.

I agree that the Rangers are unlikely to make any major trades. Definitely could look to add a competent RH shot on the back end.
