The slow down I think is what you meant |

Must be slow on the Hockey front. The poll question is like asking would you prefer Jock Itch or gingivitis |

Jagr is obviously the the better player over their career's, that's not to diminish anything Selanne has done as he's also one of the greatest too. But Jagr, despite his personality, is just better!
Jagr
Stanley Cup - 2
Art Ross - 5
Hart - 1
Lester B Pearson - 3
Olympic Gold - 1
8th in All-Time Scoring 1688pts
Selanne
Stanley Cup - 1
Calder Trophy - 1
Maurice Richard Trophy - 1
15th in All-Time Scoring 1430pts |

Selanne.
Jagr turned into a douche with his latest antics... Teemu kept is real.
But seriously, they both make it on the first ballot anyday. |

Eklund: Showdown: Selanne vs. Jagr - Eklund
Jagr is the better player. But I've never liked him. He's always been a douche. Its just taken until now for most to see it and admit it. If he had not chased the money in the KHL for a while he'd be up even higher in career stats.
That said I'd take Selanne on my team any day. Speed, Skill, Scoring, great role model for young guys, kept working hard and working out through injuries and has always been a gentleman.

Career wise jagr is the better player.
Currently active in the nhl and regarding past seasons, selanne is the better player and produces more, and he is the older player |

I find it pretty funny that Jagr now plays for the team that he gave the finger to in the playoffs |

Going with stats on this one. Each have around the same number of games but Jagr has around 200 more points |

Jagr. He controlled more facets of the game. |

How many goals would Selanne of scored if he played with Mario. Rob Brown had his best 3 years while playing with Mario.

Selänne, any day. And this is a completely objective opinion by a Finn. Right… |

Exactly what I was gonna say. Jagr clearly wins stats wise especially taking time in play in the KHL but salanne keeps it classy, Anaheim is lucky to have had him. |

Jagr was the most dominate player in the game when Mario retired, and had his best seasons playing without Mario.
Its not even close Jagr was the better player.

Wow! It's tied as of now. I guess it's not surprising with these two great players. |

You better check the stats. The 3 years without Mario his best year he scored
44 goals but the year Mario came back he's back in the 50's.
He was a great player but not the most dominant in the late 90's. |

He put up 127 points (2nd highest of his career) and then he put up 96 points in 63 games the following yr without Mario. The 3rd highest point total of his career, 123, was also done without playing with Mario while he was with the Rangers.
Only 3 people in NHL history have won more scoring titles than Jagr. He was the most dominant player in the game after Mario retired.

Selanne by a nose, probably the one that isn't always out of joint. I would have scored 30 every season playing with Mario, and I suck. But in his day you couldn't knock Fabio Jagr off the puck. He was awfully good, and awfully full of himself. I'll take the character guy. You could have hardly gone wrong with either one though.
And those of you talking about Jagr leaving for the KHL for 3 years need to remember Selanne missed three seasons at the beginning of his career. Watch the players play instead of looking at a stat sheet. It'll tell you a lot more. |
