I fully agree with you Colin. For the past two seasons now, the best hockey of the season was played when the team was riddled with injuries and the lineup was filled with the young kids. I know this team will struggle to put up wins, but I'm excited to see heart and passion on Saddledome ice again, and expect to see a squad that never gives up out there. Hartley has a blank slate now and players that will actually listen to him. I'm eager to see what he can do.

Not at all. Honestly, I'd be shocked if we didn't finish that low... even with strong systems and good work ethic this team is going to struggle to put up wins... there are going to be lots of growing pains for these kids.

No no, set up a meeting the day you walk into a flames thread and see us bragging about how good we are and how bad the oilers are after missing the playoffs 7yrs and counting. Until that day, Whip may be the Pot but he sure doesn't sound like he's calling the kettle black.

I think he knows I'm joking...I've been calling for the Flames to do a proper rebuild for a few years now. If I have to go to games and watch I'd prefer to at least have some excitement. And even though the Oil have sucked for the last few years, going to their games was always far more exciting and fun. I'm sick of going to the Flames games and having a bunch of boring people that just sit around and chat through the whole game and never get into it. I want them to do it right. That said it will hurt seeing Reinhart or Ekblad in that jersey....

Not sure what i think of Hartely? On the one hand he was brought in to get that last bit of game out of the veterans (Iggy, Tangs, JBO, ect) and failed to do so. His defensive game plan was horrible. I do realise that he had the veterans checked out before the season began, but like i said, its his job to get them going.

I do hope he implements a new defensive plan. I will galdly give him the year, maybe 2, to see if he is the right guy.

PS that chick in another post is flipping hot!!!

My problem was some Oiler fans would bragg about how good the Oilers would be at the start of the season and then as the season went along they would all change their tune.

I just hope Calgary can turn this around in 3 years...

Very good read, but I'm not sure what step stajan can get to in his career. I think at this point he is what he is. Unless by step you mean what he can be traded for as I don't see him in calgary for very long.

I see the Flames about where the Oilers were 4 years ago. A steep hill to over come. Hopefully their management go about it a little smarter than KLowe and Tambo did in Oilerville. I think both teams need to fire their Presidents. King and Lowe are both embarrassments. Oilers should finally be a team that can flirt with the playoffs this season. But they'll likely under achieve and suffer multiple injuries that have them flirting with the Flames this season because they refuse to address their need for some size.
