2. goaltending is probably 4th or 5th on their list of needs
3. dubs is signed to a much better contract
4. dubs actually put up better numbers. at half the price. and with an arguably worse defence. at least comparably bad anyways
5. miller would prob cost a fair amount in a trade. and could walk in a year
6. if edm is gonna give up a good package in a deal, theyd move for a big top 6 winger, a quality 3rd line winger or a top 4 dman, all before another goalie


even if miller is better than dubnyk (he has proven a lot more over his career-dubs is only 26) that deal makes no sense for edm. goaltending is NOT the issue.

even if he just has an average year. at the price tag, the package it would take to get him, the cost of resigning miller when the oil already have to resign nuge, petry, j Schultz, plus a fantastic fa crop next year; miller would literally have to put up vezina like numbers in comparison to dubnyk to make it even close to worth it for edmonton

ALL of this. The fact Dubnyk won't be on team Canada means absolutely nothing to his argument - he used logic and reason to argue that the Miller to Edm nonsense is, in fact, that. Nonsense. Your response displays your immaturity and lack of knowledge.

By the way, if Miller was from Toronto (that means he would be Canadian), he would have ZERO chance at making Team Canada. Not that THAT has anything to do with Miller to Edm being nonsense.

Miller has to bust his ass during the 1st half of the season in order to make the Olympic team. You will see Ryan Miller at his best this year. Any team in need of a Goalie would enjoy that effort.

I don't think it is Miller going for Dubnyk but if it is there has to be something else. Maybe they are unloading Hemsky and finally addressing the fact that they don't have a third line.

Maybe it is a 3 way with Colorado parting with one of there 8 centers for Hemsky plus to the avs, miller going to Edmonton and a bunch of other things going on.

this is true.

but you only addressed one of the reasons it doesn't make sense.

dubs is gonna get his shot for a full season with at least a reasonable team in front of him. all at half the price of miller.
even if he had a stellar year, he'll still resign for less than miller would. which is important with so many other pieces to resign next offseason.

I don't see it making sense at all for Edmonton. I suppose maybe if dubnyk was going the other way and miller resigned immediately at a decent rate.
