What about Emile Poirier? He was drafted ahead of Klimchuk. Does that not mean he's in the top five? In all seriousness, I am still baffled by the thinking that led Calgary's scouting staff and management to pick him.

Pretty much the same thinking that will land him on team Canada. Idiots right?

FYI- you're about a month behind on the insults. Get a life.

To pick him? or to pick him that high. Other teams would have taken him in the next five picks (rumoured speculation) and Calgary made a point to draft guys who they feel had a high potential. He has breakout speed and his hands around the net are unreal.
After watching highlights and seeing him during the prospect camps, I have more than enough ideas why Calgary drafted him. I think for this list, it's ok that Klimchuk is ahead of him. They are both very talented and hopefully after next season it'll be clear why Emile was drafted ahead of Klimchuk.
And yes, he has a fairly decent chance of making Team Canada as well.

I find it interesting that Klimchuk is ahead of Poitier as well. But, it's nice to see Klimchuk getting some of the attention that he likely deserves. So much has been made of the Poirier pick that Klimchuk's talent and skill have been a little over shadowed. I hope he goes out and dominates the WHL this year and makes people wish they picked him sooner.
