Go for the bridge contract. Wish they did that with Myers. |

Part of me wants to sign Henrique to a long contract because of our history of players leaving first chance they get but at the same time If he doesnt improve it wont be a nice contract. I like the 2 year bridge deal but Lou never talks contracts during the season one of his morals that I think could use a change Im just hoping something gets worked out soon im really sick of waiting |

Darcy had better not cave on this bridge contract concept. While I like CoHo a lot, he does need to work on his complete game including the mastery of the face-off. Let him hold out, this is the year to do so like no other...let Grigs, Gergs and Larson get a good taste of the NHL. Let's face it, 2013-14 is a development year for the Sabres, which includes CoHo rounding out his game before the big payoff...unlike The Myers contract which could be an albatross contract if he does straighten his game out this year as well...we can't afford two max contracts on under performing players |

The problem is Regier is dealing with Rich Winters when in fact he should be negotiating with Cody's Dad. |

Please forgive my ignorance friends (and I admit that) but please explain the meaning of a "bridge contract" as I'm not understanding |

Pretty much give him a two year contract will lower money like 2.5 million for two years and let him ptove himself than sign him to a huge contract if he deserves it |

I believe that is what every GM in this situation is trying to do, hopefully none of them crack to the demands or it's going to (frank) over the rest of the teams in this situation. |

I tend to agree. Only because in theory you can lock them up longer if you sign them long term after the bridge deal. Landeskog and Myers for example both signed long term deals during their ELC's. they will be UFA's before the age of 30. |

Ott isn't a center - cabin
I love Ott for the role he plays..Ott as our#1 center because he has a good faceoff percentage would be beyond depressing.

They could have made something in the contract that after the ELC max year contract would be 3. It would keep the contracts and buy outs down. |

A bridge contract is a 2-3 year deal at a "reasonable amount" that bridges the time between the end of the entry Level deal and the beginning of UFA status.
As to keeping CoHo, I say give him a bridge deal or say good bye. With Ennis, Ott, Grigorenko, Larsson and Girgensons we have plenty of guys that can compete for the top three center jobs. Frankly, if CoHo holds out, he may find himself without an opening in Buffalo and it will injure his reputation with other clubs. |

But Coho is a top 20 Center in this league...didn't you know that? |
