The Hawks played the Kings in the WCF not the Red Wings.

How is a guy who had a career high 28 goals, and usually averages about 20, considered a sniper? Weiss is more a pass first playmaker. Good replacement for Filppula however, if he can stay healthy.

"the Wings were still good enough without the future Hall Of Famer to take the Chicago Blackhawks to game seven of the Western Conference Finals. The Wings held a commanding 3 games to 1 lead against the Blackhawks in the WCF. One bounce their way could have sent them to the Cup Finals."

wow, 3 straight incorrect sentences. Detroit got knocked out in the conference semifinals (league quarterfinals). Hawks played the kings in the WCF

edit: just realized that the normal wings blogger didn't write this, but Garth. Things make more sense now

The West is widely considered to be the physical conference while the East is more wide open. Wouldn't expect GARTH to know that though.

Wings will sweep the Sabres. As will most teams.

In light of the Fox Sports 1 ads the other day, if you are looking for something to watch tonight, Fox has the answer:

Detroit will get right around 45 wins and do well in the playoffs like every season.

This is the first time EVER that I have heard that the East is bigger and tougher than the West! Where in the world did this guy hear that? It is 180degrees the other direction, polar opposite!

Wow! I'm baffled by this.

Detroit is not as good as most people are making them sound. They didn't even make the playoffs until the last game of the season last year. If they lose that game they don't even get in. Unless Howard can replicate his stats over an 82 game slate I expect them more around the 6 or 7 seed. Still way better than us though.

They did add Alfredsson and Weiss. IMO an upgrade from Brunner and Flipulla

Slight upgrade, if that. It's debatable. Better players in theory, but also older. Much so in the case of Alfredsson.

It's bullpoop anyway. There isn't a magic line drawn down the league where one side is faster or stronger.

Agreed. I literally look over my shoulders to make sure no one is watching me read Garth's blog, I don't want to be embarrassed and let people know that I stoop so low. Not only is his grammar repulsive, but he doesn't even get the simplest facts straight. My six year old nephew is a Sabres fan, I will see if he would consider being Garth's replacement.

Even a hockey blogger would suffice.
