How is a guy who had a career high 28 goals, and usually averages about 20, considered a sniper? Weiss is more a pass first playmaker. Good replacement for Filppula however, if he can stay healthy.

The West is widely considered to be the physical conference while the East is more wide open. Wouldn't expect GARTH to know that though.

Detroit will get right around 45 wins and do well in the playoffs like every season.

Detroit is not as good as most people are making them sound. They didn't even make the playoffs until the last game of the season last year. If they lose that game they don't even get in. Unless Howard can replicate his stats over an 82 game slate I expect them more around the 6 or 7 seed. Still way better than us though.

Slight upgrade, if that. It's debatable. Better players in theory, but also older. Much so in the case of Alfredsson.

It's bullpoop anyway. There isn't a magic line drawn down the league where one side is faster or stronger.

Agreed. I literally look over my shoulders to make sure no one is watching me read Garth's blog, I don't want to be embarrassed and let people know that I stoop so low. Not only is his grammar repulsive, but he doesn't even get the simplest facts straight. My six year old nephew is a Sabres fan, I will see if he would consider being Garth's replacement.
