If this was about ownership, the Oilers would be dead last.

Well Ian I am a little pissed you do not have Canucks #1 for everything. I think we are going to have to revoke your homer card.

I didn't read yesterday but if 4 of the first 5 posts suggests an onslaught from the most overblown team... kinda funny. I don't mind the Oilers as a ...... nope, no way to finish that sentence.

Ownership, yes. Melnyk has the emotional decision making of a 12 year old girl.

Club President, the Oilers (KLowe is a mess)

I was joking with a friend about how Lowe always finds his way into the Hockey Canada front office.

We figured he was really good at making coffee.

HEYYYY YOU GUYSSSSS!!!!
But seriously think you've done a fairly good job of comparing teams fairly. Disagree with a couple things, but as for the Oil they are too unpredictable right now, with too many what if situations to place them higher right now. Hopefully that changes in the coming months.
Kudos to ya!

I popped in from time to time but it was mostly an Oiler poo-flinging contest. Can't wait for training camp to start.

I think you are underestimating the work Sean Burke has done in Phoenix. Both Bryz and Smith looked lost before he got his hands on them.

hahah ya that would be the only reasonable explanation, wish him and burke would start throwing cheap shots again, about the only production they've done since 08

Good list, but I honestly think Tippett alone moves Phoenix up that list. His fingerprint on that team is so overwhelmingly obvious. I know, mancrush.

not sure about your sutter shelf life comment.

If he didn't take on the GM duties, I would have like him to stay in CGY longer (and wished he stepped down and took the job from his brother)

You are definitely correct on both points, but that doesn't mean Burke doesn't raise the overall rating of the Phoenix staff.

Burke is the best goaltender coach in the league. Tippett's system or not. Look how Bryz turned out after he left PHX, and how Smith did once he got there.

But seriously Ian, don't you think you're giving Torts a little too much credit? I think the players won that Cup in TB, because look at the talent he had in NY, and couldn't get them to a final.
