Wouldn't mind Douglas Murray. I'm also surprised he hasn't signed. Maybe he's waiting for two-second-rounders-worth money. |

Great to hear Lars Eller say he was fully recovered just three weeks after the devastation caused by Eric Gryba's hit in game one of the Habs-Sens series.

I never thought he was really hurt all that bad.
Just seemed to me like it was a rough series and he was looking for a way out. |

I think there is some evidence to suggest that Danny Kristo was the player being offered to Columbus in that trade discussed below.
We know that Kristo’s friend had predicted some “big news” at the draft, and we know that Kristo was traded shortly afterwards.
Putting the two facts together, it would not be outrageous to conclude that
- the Habs had already informed Kristo that he would be traded prior to the draft
- the Habs were circulating Kristo’s name and trying to move up to specific pick by trading their pick + Kristo
- nothing panned out so they went to a back up plan which was a 1 for 1 swap with the Rangers.
Kristo was probably the Habs best forward not playing in the NHL. He had played for the USA World team just a few months ago, and by all accounts he did not look out of place there.
But Kristo is virtually the same player as Briere in the sense that they are top 6 scoring, smaller, right wingers. And I guess the Habs had a plan to get Briere on the table and that would have blocked out Kristo for at least 2 more years.
I think Kristo asked for an honest projection about his chances to play in the NHL this coming season and he was told they were not that great – and possibly he would be asked to play two years in the AHL.
I think Kristo then asked for the trade.
Makes sense to me, but of course this is mostly speculation based on the facts at hand.

I would expect Kristo to make the Rangers right out of the gate.
And I also think Kristo has the speed and the scoring talent to develop into a very solid NHL offensive player.
I had him ranked as our #1 prospect and most likely to make our team this season.

Montreal is a big IF team. if they get 65 games of solid goaltending from Price and remain relatively healthy for 82 games, they could easily finish top 3 in the division. either one of those things doesn't happen, and you're looking at the customary 7-10 season-long grind. both of those things don't happen, lottery team.
i don't think Bergevin was too concerned with making serious upgrades this summer because he knows that this isn't a championship core. |

I think all hab fans agree to sign Halpern, vet who knows his role, baffled right now. It would be nice to see them sign a steady low cost defenseman right now to fill emelins void. Habs will make playoffs, they will be fighting for top in division. Even if price plays average they have a shot, he bounces back and plays well all year, we got a top team. |
