Talk about struggling for content........a swedish exhibition game involving a few scrub sabres and some fluff about your broadcast booth. Why on god's green earth are there 2 Sabres bloggers again, one of whom is horrible for overvaluing what little you have on your roster?

Jeanneret and Dunleavy will be joined by Rob Ray, who will return to serve as color commentator for all Sabres broadcasts. Brian Duff will also return

That is one hell of a crew.

I think as Sabres fans, news on RJ leaving is HUGE news. The guy has been with us since 1971.

RJ is a staple in hundreds of thousands of households across WNY and southern Ontario.

Might not be news to you, but it's big for us.

I know he's a Buffalo icon and a HOFer, but I can't say this upsets me. Just my personal preference (and my wife's, and my parent's and in-law's), the guy has one hell of an annoying voice. I know you Buffalo people love him, and I think that's great. Personally, I have literally muted games when all I can get is the Buffalo feed.

Fair enough.

I can't stand the Penguins guy, so I know where you're coming from.

And don't get me started on the NBCsports crew (Emrick, McGuire, etc).

It's too bad you can't get past your dislike of RJ's voice, because he calls one hell of a game.

I can understand why non Sabres fans would be annoyed with RJ's style, but we Sabres fan have grown to love it because he pours everything he has into it. His goal calls are a staple to this team like Chris Bermans making up names for NFL players on ESPN. You either love it or you don't.

As far as the two bloggers go, it is not about them, it is about our knowledge and desires as fans.
They just give us the threads to use to talk to each other.

He's definitely emotional and passionate, and knows how to illustrate well. But his voice (especially when he gets excited) is just so damn irritating. That and, well, he's a pretty big homer (not as bad as Jackson in Philly, though). I'd still rather listen to him than Jack Edwards.

The Bruins and Penguins are the worst when it comes to play by ply/analyst teams.

It is very simple... DO NOT READ!!
RJ's departure in three years is a major event for all the Sabres fans across the country.
To me, he is the BEST at what he does!

thats not a big feat..

but seriously isn't the home guy supposed to at least be a little bit of a homer? He is doing it for local people only and you want to sell your product to make people like the team more.. i think he does/did a good job with that.. but he is starting to lose it.. Drew Miller is not our goalie.
