Oh Garth, you see how many hits Eklund gets for a blog about Hemsky.... so you start one yourself... This is just sad. I almost feel bad for you. |

Hemsky would most likely just be to make the cap work out with picks and prospects going buffalos way |

again, if Horcof gets a depth D and a pick, I doubt Hemsky is immovable.
But good job basically summarizing the generic crap that floats around these threads |

1 year at 5 mil is hardly an albatross, especially for Buffalo who has an abundance of cap space. At least it's better than 1 year at 6.25M for a suspect goalie. Miller is a gamble that may or may not improve the Oilers. Same statement for Hemsky in Buffalo. Of course, with the Oilers sitting on Dubnyk, a goalie with superior stats last year, the chance of Miller being an upgrade is much smaller than Hemsky (20 points in 38 games) being an upgrade over Stafford (18 points in 46 games) or Kaleta (1 point in 34 games). It seems like a no-brainer for the Sabres, actually.
For the Oilers, one would think Dubnyk would have to be on the move (unless the Sabres retained some of Miller's salary). Carrying 10M for two starting goaltenders is a little much... |

Miller is better than Hemsky. That being said, neither player is in an ideal cap situation.
This rumour, while likely untrue, would have to depend on whom or what the oilers were adding to the deal. I'd go as far to say that a Hemsky + say a 1st rounder for a year of Miller at 6.25 would actually be quite unpalatable for the oilers' brass. |

Hemsky is a problem in terms of cap, you're right. But when is it bad to have to many talented players?
Miller is Buffalo's problem, don't forget that. The guy has a terrible attitude, and whenever the team loses everyone gets into a pissing match, sounds like a real good situation you're in too.
Miller may be good, or may have been good in the past, but Miller's attitude is the main reason why it's unlikely Edmonton even takes him. Yeah he could be a very good goalie for the Oilers, and yeah they could dump some salary/contracts, but if you have a punk goalie sitting in the dressing room blaming everyone else every team you have a bad loss, it's not worth trading for a goalie that might return to what he did 3 years ago. |

It's not like this is completely impossible to happen. Buffalo needs some depth on the RW and Edmonton needs a true #1 goalie. Dubnyk might be that guy but until he proves it he is not. If he is, Edmonton can send Miller on his way at the deadline.
Hemsky needs a change of scenery and Buffalo can provide that. The Western conference has been beating Hemsky up since his arrival to the NHL and the East could be more his style.
Through in Luke Adam and a conditional 3rd (if Miller resigns, make it a 2nd) and add Nick Schultz and a 2nd with Hemsky and the deal is done, IMO. |

Garths almost as bad as Barry.
Hemsky would instantly become one of the Sabres top players.
That being said... I wouldnt trade Miller heads across for him. |

Just let us dream we can get rid of him, let us dream... It doesn't hurt anybody. Tomorrow when we all wake up and buffalo still has their bad attitude goalie and the oilers will still have our crappy 5 mill winger, the world will keep on turning, but for now, let us dream.... |

Wasn't there just a big stroy about MacT wanting to get rid of the complainers on his team? Doesn't sound like Miller would fit that plan. |

Nonsense, no way Oilers trade Hemsky for Miller. - redwolf
YEAH! Cause nobody wants him! Anything more than a 7th round pick is overpayment for his lazy bones! |

if we were to take that salary dump on us you would have to at least throw in a 1st rounder minimum |
