You complained when the Oilers weren't doing something, and continue to whine like a little girl when they DID do something. You can't have it both ways dumbarse. |

I'm not a huge Jordan Tootoo fan, but what about moving Schultz to the Wings for Tootoo? The Wings need another D-man before the season starts.
how the hell would this help edmonton. |

Detroit cap space is 1 044 621 $ and they still have to sign RFAs Joakim Andersson and Gustav Nyquist so trading Tootoo for Schultz does'nt work. |

The first part of the blog is about how Hemsky sucks and can't be moved. The second part proceeds to tell us how the team can be improved by moving Hemsky.
Brilliant. Now he'll get hits for both sides. |

Since you clearly don't understand, allow me to help you out:
Ales Hemsky is a talented player who belongs in a Top 6 group. He's not a hitter; he's a swift-skating creative playmaker that would be an upgrade offensively for several teams.
However, the Oilers have two better players ahead of Hemsky on the RW on the depth chart: Nail Yakupov and Jordan Eberle. With those two on the team, Hemsky is pushed to the third line, where he isn't a fit.
The Oilers need big wingers who hit in the bottom 6. Two-way players. Hemsky doesn't bring that. So even though he's a talented guy who absolutely has value, he's not a fit for the Oilers Top 6 or Bottom 6. For the sake of the player and the team, he needs a trade...and if he goes to the right situation, the team getting him will improve because of it. |

Didn't read the blog, but it's quite simple. MacT has brought in a lot of pieces to fight for those spots. He's going to see what Training camp holds and if the guys aren't up to par he'll try the waiver route, if that doesn't work then he'll make a deal.
The fact is he tried to get a couple proven players and they didn't come. So he did the next best thing. No need to worry, bottom 6 players aren't exactly hard to acquire during the year.
Who knows there still could be a player brought it other than that goon we keep hearing about, but I'm not going to get too concerned if come October 1st the team looks the same as it does right now. |

I don't agree about Bottom 6 players being easy to acquire. I mean, yes, Bottom 6 players are everywhere. But good ones? Almost harder to find than a top pairing defenseman. |

He's stuck with us until we can deal him. His contract might expire first before a deal happens. |

we're done for the summer clouts Thats all there is to it. I'm not thrilled with the bottom six either but as of right now that third line is a scoring line not a shut down line. This will probably be one more year of the team fineshing in the bottom of the league plenty of contracts are up at the end of the year. JOnes, smyth, n shultz hemsky, brown, eager, potter. Thats a lot of guys to come off the roster, some of that money will be used to resign RNH, J shultz and Petry. As of right now i think the oilers best bet is to let that happen before trading for guys who are locked into two or three year deals. Make sure you've got space to deal with you stars who will need raises and then get the rest. Rankly your trade propsals suck aside from the one for tootoo. Just hang on until next summer when the market is going to be so flooded. Aksi u rekuze tiy dib;t kuje tyler piltick but he's exactly what the bottom six needs, he's not a scorer he hits everything and plays with grit. He needs work but he might be one of the answers. for the bottom six. |

Isnt in a bit premature to say blow up your bottom 6 when you have no idea how Eakins plans on using or deploying those players. Maybe he has a plan with that line up or waiting till training camp to see how the battles go before they start shipping out/replacing some of the older vets |
