Garth, Gerbe has never been great nor will he ever be.

If that's what it takes to get you motivated, Im glad he was released. I understand he's hurt, but come-on, this team drafted you, paid you, and tried to make you fit in, it just wasn't going to happen here.

All of a sudden he wants to prove the Sabres wrong? Gerbe stinks always has. He should have done more when he was here if he thinks he is so good and worth having on a roster.

I'll always be upset we released Gerbe, he us going to make us regret that every time we play them. It's impossible to find players with the work ethic, drive and attitude he has. He's the kind of player you love to have and almost need in a locker room, and he would've been great to show the young kids how to be a pro. It's too bad he couldn't make it here,

I agree. The kid has overcome huge odds and refuses to lose. I wish him well in his hockey future.

Injuries have plagued him the past couple of seasons. When healthy, he needs more than 5 minutes TOI per game. Not gonna happen with Rolston. Foligno, Armia, Girgensons, Grigorenko, Tropp, Larsson are the new guard and they will be the focal point in training camp.

42 was not prepared for NHL action when the lockout ended. He skated solo for a few months at Cazenovia, then joined the group at Pepsi Center. Didn't feel NHL contact until training camp.

Gerbe sucked then, sucked now and will continue to suck. Size does matter regardless of what the feel good underdog story people think. Since day one I told my friends and family he would end up getting cut sooner than later. When you lack size and you do not check,fight and lose the puck in every corner to people one foot or more taller then you on a constant basis you stink. I could understand if the guy scored like some of the other smaller players in the league but he does not. The guy is a 3rd line player who could easily be replaced for his salary by another player who scores a bit more and can also lay the body without losing the puck on a constant basis and has more size. He was a utter waste of a roster spot since day 1.

and to think he at one time had a top 10 goal of the year.

He used a too long stick which hindered his scoring. It was a tradeoff that didn't work for him.

He's just not a smart hockey player. Lacks a lot of basic skill. Can't pass can't recieve passes, fans on pucks, is never in the right spot, can't settle himself down and just play. His game was a nightmare. He IMO was more disappointing than Myers. Myers at least was turning it around somewhat by years end, Gerbe seemed to get worse

I wish we could stick Gerbe inside Myers so he would have his compete level. It's not like he wouldn't fit.
