Yes he should, and the Sabres would get one heck of a return that would bring them a long way into their rebuild. |

His best return is going to be fetched at the trade deadline, which is when he will be moved. I refuse to get mad at the Sabres for not living in fear of an injury. |

I sort of feel like he'd get a better return now. A team may be more likely to part with significant pieces to get the guy for at least a full season as opposed to just as a playoff rental. |

When he is in the middle of his 2nd half lull and everyone is claiming he must be injured again we will see how you feel about that plan. |

No, simply because players demanding trades is really starting to look bad on them. You sign a contract, you live up to it. If Buffalo wants to trade him then great (if he has a NTC he is allowed to say now but why would he?). Otherwise, suck it up for 1 yr and move on.
That being said, Buffalo should really be trying to trade him. |

Logic dictates that's what should happen, but NHL GM's are not, and never have been, very good at logic. History shows people get really stupid on deadline day, 2nd only to FA opening day, but that rarely involves trades. |

No way this lineup/ team makes the playoffs, especially in this Division. Vanek will be the biggest fish at the trade deadline. Hopefully for Sabers fans he has a productive year & can bring in a nice prospect/ 1st rnd pick. |

Even if that's how it turns out, I still won't be angry about it. If Homer is right, and the best deal out there is Moulson and a 1st, I'm almost content with services rendered. |

I would be fine if this was the case, but usually in these types of situations, it doesn't work out that way. |

This. It's been 3 years in a row. He will go scoreless 9 of 10 before the deadline |

I don't see a problem with that as the return either. Moulson has put up a ton of points over the last few years on a less than spectacular Isles team (yes, I know he plays primarily with Tavares). And IMO, I don't know that you get much more than that for him at the deadline and I'd rather get something than watch him walk away for nothing. - HonkFortheGoose
This. Plus if Mouslon doesn't want to resign and he pots say 15-20 before the deadline you can move him for most likely a 1st. Essentially your then trading Vanek for 2 1sts. That's fine with me |

That would be sick. I know the draft isn't as deep next year, but 2 firsts and 3 seconds sounds near perfect for a team in a rebuild.
Edit: 3 firsts and 3 seconds... if it would all play out as you layed it out.... it won't. |
