All "potential" Olympians, but highly unlikely that the majority make the team.
Much like the chances of the Sharks getting past the second round of the playoffs.
(Yes I know the Leafs have been brutal - forever!) |

Then you really have no point to make, do you?
As an aside, they've been to the WCF 2x recently, but don't let that get in the way of your excellent posts. |

Wouldn't be surprised if none of them made the Canadian team but pavelski is a lock |

The forward crop of Team Canada this year is insane. I was trying to jot down a mock/prediction roster and I could only lock in 4 (Toews, Crosby, Tavares & Stamkos), 2 of which I even feel uneasy being 100% on. I couldn't do anymore because it was hurting my brain!
With that said, Couture could definitely make the team. He's in a group of young and super talented players, so it'll probably end up being all about who works best with the other players that are definitely making the team.
I think Thornton could be the perfect #4 guy down the middle if you want a big but very 2-way conscious 4th line, maybe pairing him with a Mike Richards, Ladd, Lucic, Neal, Marchand or with his old buddy Nash. |

...and I doubt they will get to the WCF again (i.e. past the second round). My point exactly Einstein. |

Funny that nobody is commenting on Marleau's absence from the invite roster when he was on the gold medal team in Vancouver. Maybe that will be a wake up call to Patty that he's not very well respected. |

Because nobody really think he deserves to be there honestly. Haven't heard any other Canadian fans complain about Marleau not being there and to be honest personally i could not care less if he's there or not. |

He wasn't very good last time out, so it's not a surprise that he's not considered 4 years later. Add to that, with the big ice surface that embarrassed the big bruiser team they sent to Turin, I'm thinking Canada will be going with the younger and faster guys this time out.
Couture would be a very good guy to have. Whether he makes it or not will be up to the coaches and staff and will be based on how his season goes up until the final decision day, but he's definitely a worthy candidate. I'm sure Niemi and Pavelski will be with their teams. I'm doubtful the other Sharks make Team Canada, but it's not impossible. |

I feel like most playoff teams are sending more than 6 to Olympic camps, Blues have 10 likely to make teams IIRC. Not sure the concern, since most teams Sharks will face in the playoffs will likely have sent more guys. |

Do you now?
Perhaps you also have this week's lottery numbers as well, Nostradamus?
They've got a better shot than the leafs, I'd say.

Maybe, maybe not. That's not the point of the original post.
Those who don't like the posts they read revert to the "my team is better than your team BS rhetoric"
If you can say that as a Sharks fan you have not been disappointed in your teams overall performance in the post-season the last 10 years I would be shocked. |

Dude, please don't. This is why people hate Leafs fans. Do you like it when people come to Leafs threads to post "1967"? You did nothing but hurl insults; completely uncalled for. |

Disappointed maybe, but at least we had something to be disappointed in. I'd rather have that than nothing at all |

This has nothing to do with "being a Leafs fan". It's a hockey fan making an honest observation. I would be very surprised if any of the listed Sharks players make the Canadian squad.

Yet, you still lose year after year. Maybe if your team actually played a system, and stuck to it, you might win something. |

So it's apparent that you really don't much know of the team then despite claiming to be a 'hockey fan.'
Couture's a lock at the very least.
Have a nice day. |

Have you ever watched a Sharks game in your life? I'd be surprised if Couture isn't on Canada's roster. He'll probably be a 4th line guy or the 13th forward. |

Honestly, I think Canada is ridiculous for not taking Brent Burns becasue he is so versitile. He is both a top 3 forward or top 2 defensman on any NHL team. He has a great shot, fast skater, hits. He can play a fast puck possetion game or a grinding dump and chase game. Defensive or offense style.
He might not be the best possible player on Canada but they have 20-something other roster spots for that. He would be the best option for Canada not necessarily as a starter but to have an extra roster spot in case of an injury to a forward or defensman. |
