Lindy is a marginally good coach. I don't fear Dallas and I don't fear their defense.

To say Lindy is a defense first coach is , I think, a misperception. Except for a few years he was unable to layout a good strategey for consistant scoring. His d-men are always jumping in on the rush, leaving one guy back to protect. The Sabres were constatnly battling odd man rushes and I think have had more short handed goals against them then any team over his tenure (that may not be right).

Nice guys don't necessarily make great coaches. He is definately a good guy to be around, I just never really thought he had a good game plan. His PP has looked the same for 15 years. His system same, coaching style..same.
