Fleeced? Noesen's been compared to Corey Perry and Silfverberg is a future top six forward...and there's also the 1st rounder. Not sure how it's a bad deal for the Ducks.

How dangerously close to the ceiling are we?

Capgeek says 1.3, but that's with 9 defensemen (13 forwards). Give us back 775k for Potter and 1-1.5 million for Larsen or Belov and we're A-OK.

In regards to Iggysbff: This guy send everyone PM's telling them to leave this site. He is just a jealous moron with little to do but small petty things to annoy...... Like a child that didn't get candy.....

That's true but we still have a lack of depth in the forward department. It would be nice to have a bit more wiggle room.

Never heard that comparison to Perry but if so then I think its a fair deal, besides, past Getzlaf and Perry, Selanne and Koivu are pretty much in the twilight or their carreers'.

Look at all of those other teams you've mentioned, and look at their goalie...now look at ours.

We need FOUR players. I like Dubnyk but he's not a true #1, unfortunately. This needs to be addressed before the team does anything of significance.

He had been compared in the past, but his development hasn't progressed as they'd hoped and he actually saw a drop in production this past year. Silfverberg is going to be missed, and I think he'll be a good 2nd line winger for the ducks, but he won't be near the same level as Selanne, even at 41.

Not exactly sure how Anaheim gets fleeced in this deal. For starters they freed up more than $4 millino in cap space for a team that can always use the money.

Secondly they obtained a hghly touted prospects in Silfverberg who despite adapting from international to NHL ice still put up about .5 ppg.

Forget about the 6'2, 210lbs power forward in Noesen or the 1st round pick.

Here's my prediction. Ryan will have a better short term effect with this deal but 2-3 years from now we'll be talking about how Silfverberg got away.
