Both! Lots of people are getting tied up on this thing about the Kings only having 1.5+mil left but they also have 9-10 defensemen signed. All those aren't going to be playing hence they have enough for both players after they let the D fight it out in camp.

i like Lewis but i think i would keep Clifford because he is a little younger and a little more potential to improve his game.

As an armchair GM, I would sign both for a combined $3mill. They're both too valuable to our team to lose to free agency.

As said earlier, we have 9 defensemen signed and we will only keep 7 on our opening day roster. If we waive/demote/trade Ellerby and Schultz, that will leave us a shade over 3mil to sign both Clifford and Lewis.

To answer your question if I had to choose...it would be Lewis. He's good on the PK with Stoll and his offensive game is finally coming around.

Clifford would get more in return if his rights were traded.

First time I've read your work. Good blog. Not all whiney and threatening to quit like that POS Barry. Whoever you guys don't keep, Edmonton will gladly trade for.

I thought Matt Greene was going to be put on the LTIR. That gives the team $2.9MM, should be plenty to sign both. If not, my Oilers would be happy to relieve you of either one of them. What do you guys think Lombardi would want from Craig Mctavish for them?

Clifford all the way.

Trade him to the Oilers for their 2014 1st round pick plus Marincin. They'll jump all over that.

Agreed. Then Nolan and King can fight it out for an exciting start to the season in Manchester.

Greene was back during the playoffs. I think you're talking about Willie Mitchell.
