I really wish all teams & GMs would pay a decent base salary but include performance bonuses for both individual and team results. Not going to happen.
So, what's the best deal we could expect to get a 1/2 C and at what cost---Gags & what else? I'd prefer to retain our #1 for '14 just in case we have a rash of injuries &/or bad luck and finish as low as this year, or worse. |

If he wants to play in Edmonton as badly as they make it seem than he will take less money. If not trade him for a bigger centre |

Gagner is poopty, I say trade him to the Blues for Berglund if we can. Berglund can easily be the center Gagner is and more |

The clock is ticking and it will be interesting to see which way this goes but I don't think there is a trade in place if they get a bad ruling. If there is one in place it won't be a good trade.
We all think the Oilers want to get bigger and if there was a deal available to move Gagner + to get a better 2C why hasn't the deal been made already.
If anything a trade would hinge on a favourable arbitration ruling for the Oilers. |

Stastny has put up three 70 point seasons. Gagner has yet to get to 50. |

Who wants to trade for a RFA smurf who completely overvalues himself? Frack that noise, Oilers should trade him and something away to either get some other center or sign Grabo and trade gagner and something for a defenseman of TOP pairing quality. I'd to see Tyutin, Vlasic etc. You know, guys you wouldn't have to sell the whole farm for but are solid, no mistake type of guys. |

If we're going to trade within the division I'd rather look at procuring Ryan Kesler from Vancouver. The asking price would be high but it would be worth it. |

Agreed. Stastny's worst season playing 65+ games is better than Gagners best season playing any amount of games. |

You are really high on Gags dude. But he is a lot of the problem in Edmonton. Generally speaking, you run with either a big first line center and small 2nd line center or a small first line center and big 2nd line center...Nuge is the bonafide top dog. Never will change, and because of that, Gagner will never fit. And I never said take Stastny, I think Edm should get Berglund. 6ft 3 swede with some skill. Sounds great with Yakupov |

Gagner will get $4.75 at arbitration, and he'll get a two year deal so the arbitrator doesn't have to see him next year. He'll be an overpaid plug for both seasons and the Oilers will try to deal him twice a day for two years and then go through this again. Wash, rinse, repeat. |
