Meh.
He looked good when he arrived, but then AV broke him....happens to players when they have to totally abandon the style of play that's worked for them their entire career, in favour of dump and chase, dump and chase, dump and chase... |

If I were another GM w/ cap space, I'd pounce on the Blues after this signing. Issue a 7-8m payday to Pietrangelo and 2-3m to Allen and force them to choose between the two, ala what the Sharks did with Niemi and Hjalmarsson a few years back. You'd either get a top tier defenseman, a decent upcoming goalie, or be able to use the entire situation to leverage them into trading a different target. Also wouldn't be a bad idea if you were a division rival, as it'd ruin them financially for a while... |

Sadly, the entire league in general is turning into that.
Don't forget to add endless minutes cycling the puck, as that is so exciting. |

I would offer sheet Pietrangelo if I was Lou but we don't have a first next year. You got to remember though it will come back to bite you in the *ss when you have an RFA and we have Henrique who is still a RFA so It isn't an easy decision to make to just decide to offer sheet a teams franchise player. |

Don't fight it—the Sedins have turned it into an art form.
Just let it happen. |

Jeff, I don't know that Tarasenko will play with Roy. He already is attached to a RW, in your pairings, and I don't know that he'll move to the left side. I think you'd probably see Schwartz on the left side of Stewart and Roy, with Oshie with Backes and Steen. Then Tarasenko with MPS and Berglund. If tarasenko is willing to move to the left, it potentially opens a lot of options. |
