Some really, really talented hockey players on your top 20 list. Some of the best.

Mogilny at 8 is absurd (76 goals / 51 Asst) !?!? Gilbert was awesome but he never had a 50 goal season. I like the list but just don't agree with your opinions. Nice work.

No love for Donnie Edwards or Tom Barrasso? Both were stellar during the time they spent in Buffalo.

Sorry, guys. There's simply not enough room in the top 20 for more than 20 people. I know there are a lot that were left out, but they're not far off from it.

I hear ya. You did a really good job of spreading out the love among the eras and the positions (2g, 4d, 14f).

And I agree with Craig Ramsay at #5. If it weren't for Bob Gainey, he'd have won 4-5 Selkes over his career, and his offense was much more of a factor than Gainey's.

Kinda surprised Hasek isn't #1. Hasek is arguably one of the top half-dozen goaltenders ever to play and for a few years was the best hockey player on the planet. 'Bert might crack top 25 all-time, but IMO his best isn't close to Dom's best.

Good list, though - fun read.

2 Hart's, 6 Vezina's = second place

Never scored 50 goals in a single season = first place

Got it.

Sorry, but Perreault's longevity, consistency, impact and reputation on the team, along with being the team's 1st ever pick, have me choosing him over Hasek. The dominator has impressive stats, but his entire career wasn't with Buffalo. You could also count on #11 to play 70-80 games a season.

If I had to choose one player, like I did, it's Perreault over Hasek. I'm not saying that it wasn't a close decision, either.

This! Hasek was an amazing goalie, the best the Sabres have ever had, but also left this organization in a very bad place after he left. His wish for the Sabres to not take any major pieces back in a trade to a cup contender.

Hey Kevin, Great choice. I was teenager when Gilbert Perrault was drafted. I am from Edmonton & have seen many great players live, but Perrault was a pure talent and the most graceful player I have ever seen play. Exciting / electric to watch for his time. A class act. Smooth as any player to ever play the game. Any success Buffalo had during his time would not have happened without him. Never got the big awards because of the likes of Esposito, Orr, Lafleur, Clarke, Bossy, Trottier, but always in the mix.

I think, from a purely hockey standpoint, Hasek is the better overall player.

But, when you tailor it to a certain fanbase, more comes into play, which is why Perrault is #1.
