You mean the roster with a potential 40 goal scorer, great grinders, good complimentary scorers, a solid (if unspectacular) D-corps, plenty of young guns and arguably the best goalie in the NHL last year?

Oh, and they're well coached....


Don't look past the jackets this coming year, they are a heck of a lot better than they are getting credit for right now.

I ask myself the same question when Ranger fans were disapointed Vinny was not returning. After 2 seasons I can understand why, he brings a positive veteran influence, he's great in the lockeroom and still at age 39 he shows the same passion for the game. I much rather have Vinney then Horton who I think his legend was created for playing on a stacked bruins team. And also as a fan should I be concerned whenba guy says he wants to flee the pressure of playing in a big city.

He was our leading scorer last year! Called out the players (team) publicly for a lack of effort. He fits the teams identity - hard working and willing to grind.

Disappointed we didn't find a way to get it done. I guess it isn't over yet. My concern is you take the top scorer off this team for 2 mil a year?

I think everybody in this organization/fans of the team are used to disappointment and perennial failure. It would be easy to continue to be pessimistic, or even "cautiously optimistic" about the future. But for the sake of the game, lets just wait until the season starts and the Jackets have all their players healthy and accounted for before we discredit any of their off season decisions. I'm excited to watch this team like I am every year, but especially excited to have a multiple 40 goal scorer, a Vezina winning goaltender, and a Stanley Cup winning veteran forward with the Ohio flag on their chest.

Prospal is not the player he use to be, good move for Jackets to not resign him.
