Finally! A new blog.......just in time for me to head off to bed! OK, I will make a comment. Good to see that the scouts may have found a player, in later rounds. Now, can we just get our RFA's signed and see if we have what it takes to enhance our defense?

I think Verhaeghe has the potential to be a bit of a sleeper. Playing second fiddle to Strome might have kept him hidden. Time will tell.

We just got into the playoffs for the first time in a decade. We don't want another decade before we see the playoffs again.

Strome is the Real Deal... he is determined to play on JT's wing this year!!!

It will be hard to keep him down!!!

Verhaeghe will have lots of ice time this year!!!!

I watched him play about 6 times last year... this will be his chance to shine!!!

If we could keep our AHL players as part of it, definitely.

Rielly, Finn, Blacker, Holzer, Biggs, Ross, etc... Those would fill out the remaining spots nicely on D, and in the bottom 6 that you are lacking. Then make a trade for Miller and we'd be set in all areas.

Thank you, Ilya, for giving us Clarkson.

Seriously, though... What a wiener.

And that first rounder the Devils have to forfeit is going to be top 5 for sure. I hope Schneider is ready to play out of his mind.

Hopefully Reilly makes the team. Pairings could go something like this:

Phaneuf - Gunn
Gardiner - Franson
Reilly - Liles/Fraser
Liles/Fraser

Reilly would play PP as well, so 15 - 17 minutes a game would be ideal for his rookie year, don't put too much pressure on the kid. I legitly like that Defense though, right good.

Or he goes to junior and develops, trust Nonis and Carlyle will make the right decision whatever it is, hope he is ready though.

Rielly and Liles? Yikes.

If Rielly earns himself a spot, it wouldn't hurt to give him a nine game try out, but we'd have to move Liles.

Why didn't they just forfeit last year's? 29th overall. You aren't going to get a much better scenario than that if you have to lose a pick.

I think Granberg's got a legit shot at making the team out of camp, although I think if Hughes had his way, Rielly would. Either way, Liles has to go: there's better offensive weapons on this team in Gardiner, Franson, and Phaneuf, and we need a stable right-handed shot to play the right side as the 7th man.

Yup, they'll only pick 29 players in the first round.

They both can actually make the team. If Liles is moved, Reilly takes his spot, and Granberg moves in to Fraser's spot.

They should have a lottery for that pick.
