Colin....do you actually expect us to figure out those stats???
Judging the way stats typically appear, it looks as though he hat 45 points in 67 games...not bad for a D man.
Oh and btw.....good blog! |

You know one guy I like who not many people pay attention to is Turner Elson.
I remember he played in an exhibition game 2 years ago and he was flying around out there. I saw him play a few times for Red Deer and I was really impressed. I think he could turn into a nice 3rd or 4th line energy guy a few years down the road. |

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed it! I had a few others on the list but the more I researched them and their development they fell off the list. Im not convinced there will be any hidden gems this year from some of the invites, personally. |

Elson caught my eye as well, but hes been taking to the physical side of the game a little too much rather than focusing on his offensive game. Though you mention he was flying out there, he actually needs to improve his speed if hes going to compete with the rest of these prospects. |

Loved watching Elson in Red Deer. I don't really see him as an NHLer. |

Ya that's why I see him more as a possible 4th line type of guy...I believe he has good hockey sense, if he could develop his game more into an agitator role I could see him playing in the NHL one day. Definite long shot but I like the kid. |

Also what about Trey Lewis from Halifax? I've heard some good things about him, just wondering what you've found? |

Nothing really impressed me about him. Heard a few guys talking about him awhile back but nothing that would make me think he'll be outshining anyone. He should look like he belongs with the prospects, but dont be surprised if you dont remember his play. |

deblou and ferland i'm curious about. They could hit a bouma type level, but more aggressive. Looks like Howse blew his shot.
If antone goes to watch the camp would be great to hear about it.

I'm gonna try and make it saturday if i'm not the most hungover person in the world...probably not a good chance haha.
But ya, I think Ferland is on his last legs if he doesn't show well at this camp. They wanted him to play pro last year but he couldnt crack either the AHL or ECHL. |

Was the Captain of a very good Halifax team, plus minus would be a bit misleading at this point because of the offensive prowess of Drouin and Mackinnon but he still must have played pretty good defence to have a +38, not sure why he wasn't picked up in the draft, but interesting to see how he turns out. |
