I think they move stralman first, then maybe a guy like asham could be next if they still need the cap space |

I can't imagine the Rangers will move Stepan. But my question to Ranger fans.......what about Brassard? I think he has finally found his game and looked very good in the playoffs. Any chance he could be had in a deal? |

Getting Richards would be a lot easier. Stepan will cost you 2014 1st rd pick which should be top 3. Your better off going after statsny and Desharnais. |

Brassard is not a complete player and most of all not a winner. for those who think he's the answer. Grabo same thing. You have to be realistic flame fans, its a 5 year plus rebuild. build your team through the draft, why talk about guys who still keep you out of playoffs but may keep you out of top 5 in draft |

Stepan would be awesome but what would Calgary have to give up? This seems similar to the Seguin rumours. - whipper334
Not really tbh.....Seguin > Stepan.
It would certainly cost them a key prospect/pick and a roster player. But it might be worth it to grab a young guy like Stepan if he's available.
Thing is - despite stating that hes rebuilding - Feaster has mentioend that a rebuild doesnt need to take 5 years and if he can improve his team through trade he will. |

I had Bruins fans tell me the same about Seguin. Tough to say nowadays....though there hasnt been any organizational hints that Stepan might be on the block. |

I ask about Brassard as a Blues fan, not a Flames fan. The Blues are forcing certain guys to play center when they might be better off on the wing, and I'm wondering if Brassard could fill the 2nd or 3rd line center role. |

Yea... Guy is a core player. And we have ~$9 in cap space... Capgeek alone is off. If you adjust the roster properly you will see the "real" space available as Powe and Asham were waived, and Aaron Johnson is a minor league dman.
Makes things much easier. Although, it has been discussed that Boyle could be traded which is possible. Stepan no way. Richards no because yes, he sucks, but with the dumb cap recapture rule he must be bought out (keeping him 1 year is a stop gap to the nice UFA crop next year).
So overall, the situation isn't overly tight. Hopefully Step gets $4, Hags $2.25, Falk $1. That's a roster of 21 with $1.75 cap space. Still, could use more wiggle room. |

Stepan plays an integral role with the Rangers. Seguin was used as a third line center at times.
Stepan would be considered an untouchable on the Rangers. |

Totally different IMO. No Step trade rumors one bit. He has a natural fit on the team (first line center where Seguin didn't have that kind of spot). No attitude or maturity issues. And him and Nash are our 2 most important offensive pieces where Seguin wasn't on a cup contending team while having a $5.5M cap hit about to kick in. Granted Seguin > Stepan because the kid is only 21 and has such a high ceiling but their situations were totally different. Apples to Oranges. |

Yes, I used what capgeek gave me which saves a few hundred thousand. Hey when it's tight I'll take all the cap space I can get |

I hope the Habs trade him.
Though they'll likely do like they always do, wait until a player is worth nothing than trade him for trash. |
