That has to be the stupidest thing i have ever heard. Our defense is already jammed up enough with no space for the young guys let alone the TWO first rounder dmen we got. We gonna sign jagr and jeff oneil and jason allison as well?

I like this, Myers was at his best next to him, but now there has to be a trade sending some d men somewhere. |

Darcy only wants to bring in veterans who are professionals and have a nice personality like Mr Rogers...remember darcy didn't like Kassian because he had a bad boy bar fighting personality... the same GM who offered Shane doan 100 million is not building through the draft and gonna sign veterans who are "nice professional" guys who can help the kids. Darcy must be grinding his little rat teeth over Hodgson wanting the moon. |

I'm shocked that this move didn't happen 1-2 seasons ago when Buffalo was looking for a spark & Tallinder had more in the tank...
Sorry, but this move doesn't do much for me. It's too late. The ship had already sailed, it's time to develop youth & take the growing pains (if that is indeed the "plan").
So then Tallinder is going to hold Mcnabb down another year? Hecht revisited?
Seems like we're still spinning our wheels. In a year, Tallinder will retire and Mcnabb will have missed out on NHL playing time...
If the playoffs are out of the question anyway, it's better invest this time on developing the future.

Still no one to clear the front of the net...all cupcakes on defense. Douglas Murray would help add some grit to the blue line. |

So now we have McNabb, Pysyk, and Rhuwedel that wont see ice time unless they are in Rochester. Send one or two of them to the Avs to bring in Statsny |

Oh boy Tallinder is back....Happy days are here again! Enough of this babying of Myers. The guy is being paid like a top 2 defenseman so he should play like one regardless of who he's with. Tallinder's best days are behind him |

This is Darcy's way of protecting the Sabres' young D-men... once he saw how powerful the rest of the division was going to be this year, he realized they would look like deer in headlights and be ruined forever once they got lit up by their rivals' talent. I wouldn't be surprised if he brought in another D-man to allow Pysyk to return to Rochester, too. I like Tallinder, but I was hoping Myers would be shipped out... maybe even to New Jersey for Henrique (now that Ryan was to Ottawa already). Pampering the pampered... who are they going to trade, Ehrhoff? Regier talking out of both sides of his mouth again. |

His cap hit is $3.375 million (according to this site)... but this explains how other teams can keep signing their best players, because there is always a sucker out there willing to help take their bad contracts off their hands. I guess Darcy must have lost at the poker table during the GM meetings... since when do we need to do Sweet Lou Lamoriello a "solid" and take this contract off their hands without getting a draft pick or something else thrown into the deal. This deal may not hurt the Sabres (and potentially help Myers... or what will his excuse be at this time next year?)... but it does a HUGE favor for New Jersey. I really hope there is something else coming or else Rolston will be playing 12 D and 6 forwards instead of the other way around. Darcy is truly entertaining. |

from a devils fan point of view. devils fans are dancing in the streets with this move. unload a washed up defenseman, save almost 4 million in cap space, and actually get a warm body in return. thank you buffalo, and stay classy. |

Neither of the two first rounders you drafted this year is making your roster. |

This "trade" is what it is. A young team secures the services of a veteran, professional player to help mentor the younglayers. As a bonus, he happens to have experiencelayong with one player who has suffered since the Wiley veteran left...so there's hope he can uplift Meyers as well. Smart move. Now look for Darcy to move Miller and McNabb for a center / right wing coming back ... Smells like the Avs are the targeted dance partner. |
