Can't wait to see who the Sens are sending to Anaheim.
Silfverberg has to be part of that deal... |

Great deall for both teams IMO. ANA needed bodies and accomplised that by getting good players. OTT got the winger to replace Alfie. |

What a great trade! Can't believe the Ducks got Silfverberg out of Ottawa. Hello cap room! |

With the Getzlaf & Perry signings, you knew you'd have to trim somewhere, and Ryan was less consistent last year......seems like a good deal for both teams if the "old" Ryan shows up in Ottawa..... |

Good deal for the Ducks. They signed their stars Getzlaf and Perry to big deals. Save some cash to maybe sign or trade for a young defender, and acquire some great prospects and a 1st. |

Great, just what we need two more natural Right Wingers. Just after drafting 2D, 2RW, and 1C. I know the focus keeps getting placed on D, but the severe weakness of the Ducks for the past several years is LW. the Ducks continually try square peg/round hole RW's such as Ryan to LW. Now, while Silfverberg and Noesun have played some LW, they are actually RW's. So, this is a better trade than Ryan to Philly for Coburn + this years 11th overall and some other prospect? Time will tell, but I think we should have kept Ryan and grabbed a great 2nd line center such Lecavallier or Briere to pair with Bobby as the RW. Then, get a LW or two over the remainder of the summer. |

Yeah, the Ducks could have done that with all of the cap room they had. |

Better not let Selanne retire. Those were the only two guys I actually respected on the Ducks team. |

Ducks had 3.7 mil in cap room. Send Bryan Allen to the AHL or trade him gets rid of 3.5 mil in dead cap wood & bring up Lindholm or Vaatenen if needed. Keep Ryan & don't bring back Teemu (I know, sacrilege), or Koivu. So, yes, they could have accomplished getting a top 2nd line center and LW. |

Trading for two wingers when we need centers and D is dumb unless something else happens. Looks like temmu is probably retiring and another may be on the trading block. |

Dont think you can bury money int he minors any longer. Allen is not as bad as most think he is. He is a bit overpaid but not hugely and played well in the 2nd half and playoffs. Vats got manhandled in the NHL so not sure how they would help the D.
Im bummed Bobby is gone but understand why the trade was made. Hopefully Silf can play well and get at least 20 next year. I also hope they can sign a 2nd line center with the money they saved. |

Allen was perhaps our biggest liability in the playoffs(besides Bruce not adjusting our game) with a consistently bewildered look after the many goals scored against when he was on the ice. A 32 year old who skates like a 45 year old, yes, his contract allows for placement in the minors without the cap hit.
