Russell is a decent player, undersized, but solid, and should do well for you as a bottom pairing defenseman.

Only reason I can think of is not wanting to lose their waiver wire position....possibly to do with Grabo...maybe decided against it last minute. Who knows....that will certainly be a question for Feaster

Who fcking cares. It's a 5th round pick. I'd be more worried about giving Ference a 4 year deal. Solid pick up but not for 4 years.

I guess technically teams could not discuss contract terms until today. Feaster must have not wanted him unless Cgy could work out a contract extension prior, which Blues reporters are saying is now done.

Could be the Flames had targeted a UFA that they wanted to see if they could land first. 5th round pick isn't that big of a deal.

The Flames have inked Karri Ramo to a two year, $2.75MAAV in addition to Corban Knight and Greg Nemisz.
